    Impeachment question

I was wondering something that makes me feel a bit uneducated to ask but here it goes. If Bush and Cheney were impeached what happens? who takes over as president?

I think it's the speaker of the house or it use to be.

but I guess it depends on who you ask -- the way things are going it could be Vincente Fox

    (1) If, by reason of death, resignation, removal from office, inability, or failure to qualify, there is neither a President nor Vice President to discharge the powers and duties of the office of President, then the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, upon his resignation as Speaker and as Representative in Congress, act as President.

    (2) The same rule shall apply in the case of the death, resignation, removal from office, or inability of an individual acting as President under this subsection.
The whole article is very long and goes down the line to different cabinet offices.

In the case of the Bush administration I think Fox is third in line. I know...bad joke.

the way things are going it could be Vincente Fox
Sorry Mamie, didn't mean to steal your line.

    Impeachment

As much as I would love to see that happen. Who would be their replacements? Something I know I am starting to explore. Trust me. The next Presidential election I am going to the polls well informed and voting for only those with the back bone to put Americans and safety of our country first.

we need to make border security and immigration a part of the state elections too -- if we have state legislatures granting benefits and in-state-tuition, it will only make things worse.

these illegals think America is the 'Field of Dreams' --- build it THEY WILL COME!

[b] I would like to see ALL of them voted out of office who voted for amnesty. I would like to see ordinary citizens fill these offices, without the benefit of monies that have greased their palms. I may be old fashioned and naive, but I think someone who is honest and a patriot, could run for President, using email and the Internet to get the word out and then barnstorm the country with help of those who want to save this country. The two parties seem to have lost all their integrity. I have called and written all senators and HR members in my state and told them I will not vote for them if they do not vote to close the borders and send the illegals back. [/b[/i]
