(I know I've not been active lately but I do lurk and support.)

Wanted to share what happened to me when I went to register my son for preschool, although I bet it's happened to everyone else here & all across the country...

I went early but had to wait because there was an Hispanic woman causing a big stink & required an interpetor. Turns out she wanted the school to use her kid's middle name versus the last name because that's the way it's done in her country. She refused to listen to the rules and stormed off when her demands were not meant.

The lady that works there was fed up and she went on to tell me all these horror stories about how bad things are with illegal immigrants in the school system. The one guy who does "Residency" follow up, was just shaking his head in disgust.

She said one guy admitted to using someone else's Social Security number and said he is paying $1k for a driver's license. She also said a lot of them want interpretors and refuse to speak English even though they know it. She said one of the ladies told the interpretor that the she should learn her language (not the other way around). She says it's amazing the audacity that these people have and she is really tired of it and yet the government/school system won't do anything about it. They turn a deaf ear.

She told me that even when they graduate they can't get jobs because they never got here legally, so they sit home and watch TV. She also said that when she wants them to call her back, she leaves a message saying they won the lottery and sure enough they understand and call.

Anyway, we plan on moving in 2 years time, far away from this area because it's going downhill. They are building 3 family houses here, while knocking down the single family homes. There's one right next to our house now and it's awful. I walked by the other day and on one of the mailboxes alone are 4 different last names. I see people coming and going all the time now, parking problems, more litter, etc. The list goes on and this is in Kearny, NJ., which is right outside of Newark. Today, while driving through Belleville, we saw a "State Farm" billboard completely in Spanish. So feel free to boycott them or phone them, I sure will.

It's an epidemic, taking over every small town... a disease that has to be stopped.

However, our politicians are of no use here in NJ. I've emailed them about this and all I got back was one lousy reply saying that they are required to provide services to those with little English. Completely ignoring my complaints and issues.

Thanks for listening to this, we definitely need to clean house here in NJ with our politicians.
