Governor intervenes in support of immigrant family

SANTA FE (AP) - Governor Bill Richardson is lending his support to a Chicago mother who is trying to avoid deportation to Mexico.
The woman’s seven-year-old son is a US citizen. He’s become an immigration activist. This week the boy succeeded in lobbying Mexico’s Congress to approve a resolution urging the US Congress to suspend the deportation of Elvira Arellano and other illegal immigrant parents of US citizens.
Richardson sent a letter this week to President Bush urging him to consider a parole for the mother so she and her son, Saul, can remain in the United States.
The governor said in his letter that the case of the Arellano family illustrates the problems of the federal government not acting on a comprehensive immigration plan.
The governor told the president that permitting the family to remain in the United States, will allow the boy to “continue to be raised as the great American he has already proven to be.”

What you don't know...
is that New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson's mother is a MEXICAN. So...that is WHY he is pro-amnesty. I don't know whether she was an illegal alien or what, or if that makes him an anchor baby. However, he is HALF-MEXICAN.

Yeah, right, make this one exception??? What business is it of his anyway? Who does he think he is? She's in Chicago and he's in New Mexico. Maybe they're related?

This nightmare has to stop. We have to let congress and the senate

Anchor Babies: Is Citizenship an Entitled Birthright?
"In 1994, Alma Meza Guitierrez travelled hundreds of miles with her
three year old son through Mexico and across the U.S. border in order
to reach her aunt and uncle's small apartment in San Diego. She lives
in squalid conditions in the apartment's kitchen, she does not speak
English and has little prospects for employment. Why would a 20-
year-old mother of one give up her life in Mexico to endure such
circumstances? Alma is pregnant and she, like thousands of other
women who enter the United States illegally each year, knows that
giving birth in the U.S. means her child will be an "anchor baby" and
granted U.S. citizenship. For Alma, that means her child will immedi-
ately qualify for a slew of federal, state and local benefit programs.
In addition, when Alma's child turns 21, he can sponsor the immigra-
tion of other members of the Guitierrez clan."

Hasn't anyone of importance confronted Gov. Richardson and called him on the carpet for what he's said?
