Thread: Reminder: Bill # H.R.1940-Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007

Just a reminder: please contact your Congressman and tell them you want them to support this bill. it will put an end to the Anchor Baby problem.

To amend section 301 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to clarify those classes of individuals born in the United States who are nationals and citizens of the United States at birth.

Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007 - Amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to consider a person born in the United States "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States for citizenship at birth purposes if the person is born in the United States of parents, one of whom is: (1) a U.S. citizen or national; (2) a lawful permanent resident alien whose residence is in the United States; or (3) an alien performing active service in the armed forces.

Nope, there is no retro-active removal of citizenship...unfortunately. Besides, that would NEVER fly legally. The key is to end the awarding of citizenship to illegal alien babies as soon as possible to prevent hordes more. AND, it would be one less magnet that attracts the pregnant invaders here (or the planning on getting pregnant while illegally squatting in America). We must put an end to this incorrect and egregiously wrong interpretation of the 14th amendment NOW!

Once we get this passed I would like to see some retroactive application of this at least discussed in Congress. Even if it was only done for anchor babies who are currently minors, it would save us a load of taxpayer money.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to tell Congressman Zach Wamp of Tennessee that Birthright Citizenship has to end. He is a co-sponsor of HJ Res 46 and HR 1940.

What is a "permanent alien resident" and why would their babies be consider Citizens?

I am just luke warm on this bill,I would much rather have it answered in the Supreme court and then maybe those already born would be declared ineligible due to misuse and misinterpretation of the 14th amendment.Then again the Supreme Court could uphold the current enterpretation........Ugghh

A United States Permanent Resident Card, also Green Card, is an identification card for a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States of America. Green Card also refers to a process of becoming a LPR. Green Card serves as a proof that its holder has permission to conditionally reside and take employment in the U.S. The holder must maintain resident status by residing in the United States and can be removed (if certain crimes are committed, for example).

I wouldn't hold out for a supreme court ruling on negating the "birthright citizenship" provision (anchor baby) since it was a supreme court ruling that established the "legality" of the insanity. I don't know of any instance where the supreme court has reversed a previous ruling of it's own; though if anyone knows of an instance, please share it.
