Rep. Boustany Introduces Bill Concerning Prohibition pf Appropriated Funds from Being Used in Contravention of Section 642(A) of Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996

Rep. Charles W. Boustany Jr., R-Louisiana has introduced a bill (H.R.1764), legislation that "prohibits appropriated funds from being used in contravention of section 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996."

The bill was introduced on May 5th. It was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

To prohibit appropriated funds from being used in contravention of section 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. RESTRICTION OF COPS FUNDING FOR SANCTUARY CITIES.

None of the amounts appropriated in any Act for the Community Oriented Policing Services Program may be used in contravention of section 642(a) of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1373(a)).
