    Official H.R. 1196 cosponsor list

    Illegal aliens enter the United States in two distinct ways: approximately 60 percent cross a border illegally; and the remaining 40 percent overstay a legal visa. While the Border Patrol is responsible for preventing the first method of illegal entry, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is responsible for finding and removing visa overstays and individuals not apprehended by the border patrol.

    The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 established the 287(g) program, which trains and funds local police departments to help ICE enforce federal immigration laws. Over the years, however, adequate funding has been stripped from the program and authority given to local law enforcement has been reduced.

    Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has introduced the CLEAR Act (H.R.100) that would:

    Recognize the inherent authority of states and localities to enforce immigration law;
    Improve information sharing between state and local governments and the federal government;
    Mandate the federal government to expeditiously remove criminal aliens being detained by states and localities; and
    Increase federal resources for local governments that choose to assist in immigration enforcement.

    Hooray! And, btw, Marsha Blackburn should run for President someday if not sooner!
    Hmmm. . .if*Americans are so racist, why do so many*people want to live*here??* One would think we wouild need border walls to keep them here under racist rule rather than building walls to keep them out!

    Good start,but it needs to have some teeth in it too.
    Like if you get caught you don't get a jet back home,you go to jail until somebody can send you the money to leave.
    If you walk across the borders or swim or ride the innertubes,you get taken deep into Mexico and dropped off.
    If you drop anchor,the kid stays but your still illegal and you have to go,unless you want to take the kid with you of course.
    But good start hope more follow.

    Or until you work on a prison farm at 8 cents an hour long enough to pay your way back home. This will cause invaders to think twice about invading across our borders!!

    Thats even better,make them work off their expences.
    Give them all 30 days to leave then start ronding them up.
    The things they are saying about Americans use to be an act of war,now its 'free speech' thanks to the traitors running this nation on both sides I might add.
