    A Republican That Is Disgusted

As a Republican you'd think I lean towards believing everything that the Republicans say or do as being right, but its not so. Lately I have become disgusted with them. It seems that after 9/11 that Bush got himself mired up in things that he should have steered clear of, and from that time on it went downhill. It feels to me that my own party is voting against my families very ability to exist anymore. I don't believe that the Democrats would have done any better, on immigration issues they certainly haven't. Men like my husband can barely make a living, with no affordable health benefits (it would cost $620.00 a month, our rent is $650.00 and he takes home $1560.00). Our job market in Oregon is not good, Washingtons isn't any better (we live right across the river), so changing jobs actually could be detrimental right now (he works with a guy that had a job as an architect, and had to come back and ask for a job with this company!). But it seems that immigrants fare better than us (especially the illegals). So we have to say that our entire government needs to be cleaned out, its a mess. Things need to change. We need to be looking at our next president not by what party he (she?) is from, but how they stand on illegal immigration, sending our jobs overseas, selling out to foreign governments, and many other very important issues. If we were to do what Eisenhower did, and actually deported all these illegals, could you all imagine how many jobs for our young people would be freed up, and, how many better paying blue collar jobs would be available? Wages would go up, employers would have to be sure to offer better benefits, as with the limited supply of employees would force employers to rethink their strategy to keeping good employees. (P.S. Now you may ask about me working, and believe me I would if it would benefit us, but in Oregon it would not, we have an income tax and where we live also a county tax, as a full-time mother I have been out of the workforce for a while and now my skills are no longer worth a lot to employers. We know a couple who between them earn $22.00 hourly, and have 2 kids likes us, and they literally never have food in the house and are getting penalized for not paying their county tax last year, hmmm...food, taxes, gee I guess I'll give the county my grocery money instead, I'll just explain to my kids that the county needed it more!!!!)

it is political calculus by which King Karl Rove lives: they are betting that rising prosperity of "latinos" will make them vote republican.... although these illegals cannot vote now, I BET THAT Rove has it figured out that they will be allowed to vote much sooner than one would think...already there is talk about letting them vote in "local elections" stealing terms from our own history about "taxation without representation"... from local community voting it is a slight skip and hop to "national"..... what will it mean to be an AMERICAN in anothr generation?.... Proud Number 1 Country ....in the THIRD WORLD.

    a holy mess this is...
conservative is but a liberal after a dose of reality...

Believe you me--these illegals ARE voting. Illegally of course, but that's how they operate. And, Karl Rove doesn't want THAT to change, of course.

I know I sound like a broken record on this topic but I TRULY believe that the time has come in our country that a third party is the ONLY viable alternative AND I believe the idea has merit. I know SO MANY people who are fed up with BOTH major parties because it seems that the Republicans have moved way too far to the RIGHT and the Democrats have moved way too far to the LEFT and THAT is just not where MOST AMERICANS ARE. Most Americans, IMHO, are right in the middle. I call myself a moderate, conservative INDEPENDENT!!! I lean more towards the BASIC TENETS of the Republican Party BUT the Republican Party no longer believes in their OWN PLATFORM. They are certainly not for smaller government. They are fiscally IRRESPONSIBLE. They are CORRUPT. And, I could go on ad infinitum but you get the gist!

A THIRD PARTY is the answer!
