    Idaho And H-2A Visas

Established in 1985, the Snake River Farmers Association is recognized as the expert on issues of legal immigration and agricultural labor in the Northwest. The organization provides guidance to its member employers who wish to apply for temporary alien agricultural labor certification for the purpose of employing H-2A workers on a temporary or seasonal basis.
SRFA understands that agricultural growers require the very best when it comes to a reliable workforce. We also understand the difficulty in acquiring seasonal employees that have a legal right to work in our country. The Snake River Farmers Idaho-based organization has allowed numerous employers the ability to bring capable foreign workers onto farms to perform agricultural work for the entire growing season. The large majority of these same workers return to work for the same employer year after year.

The staff and leadership at SRFA is dedicated to undertaking the difficult job of managing H-2A applications through several government agencies on behalf of their grower members. With over twenty years experience with this process we feel we have acquired exceptional knowledge and experience regarding this cumbersome and difficult program. SRFA has continuously been involved in legislative and regulatory matters affecting the program and has been a long-standing member of the National Council of Agricultural Employers.

    Program Fees and Expenses
The Association charges the following fees for processing your application.

A one time non-refundable membership fee of $400 (subsequent annual dues are $100)
Per worker charges based on the following:
    1 - 4 workers = $640
    5 - 24 workers = $160 per worker
    25 - 50 workers = $4000
    50 or more = $8,000

DOL (Department of Labor) fees will be paid by the Association and billed out to each member = $110 + $10 per worker (as of 11/7/2007).
Although separate from our fees you should be aware that the workers will have costs ranging from $250-$285 at the time that they apply for their visa's at the consulate. This is also separate from their travel costs. See Information for Your Foreign Workers.

This is how these jerks really think.

The Snake River Farmers Association will bring 1,800 immigrant workers into Idaho this year.

The immigrants will work, legally, on farms throughout the state, George Grant said last week at a City Club forum on immigration.

For more than 24 years Grant – the founder and president of the Snake River Farmers Association – has helped members of his group navigate the maze of government organizations that approve visas for workers the association’s 500 members need to hire.

Grant guessed that about 70 percent of unskilled labor in the agriculture industry is done by undocumented workers. At a time when the pressure on employers to hire documented workers is increasing, Grant is trying to help farmers stay within the bounds of the law.

The idea is simple enough: If a farmer needs a certain amount of workers, they apply to the Department of Commerce and Labor while attempting to hire inside the U.S.

“It may sound simple, but you can’t hire anybody if you offer a dollar an hour,â€
