RUSH: Let me be as blunt as I can. I am not... Even if this Politico piece is true, even though it saddens me and it disappoints me, I think the failure by the Republican Party to embrace the Tea Party back in 2010 may go down in history as one of the all-time gaffes. They could have been invincible by now. I know why they didn't. The Tea Party stands for limited government.
The Washington establishment does not want to limit government. I get that. I understand it. And there's now acrimony that has developed and evolved. However, to me, this election is not about the Republican Party, and it's not about the Tea Party. This election is about stopping Barack Obama -- and, even at that, let me remind you of something that I posited late last week.

The Republicans have literally taken off the table the only thing that could theoretically stop Obama, and that's impeachment. They're not gonna do it; we all know why. But they took it off the table. They announced publicly in trying to gain favor with minority voters that they weren't going to ever consider impeachment. Well, fine and dandy. Do what you want to do. But there's a message that gets sent with that.
That message gets sent to Obama, and the message is, "They're not gonna stop me." Given who Obama is, given what we already know about him, given his policies to date, given his background, given who he is, it may not matter to him a whit who runs the Senate or the House; he's going to do what he wants to do as much as he can do, in the last two years. I think people don't have any idea. That's what scares me.
I don't think people have any idea. He's got two years left to make good on this transformation of America that he thinks needs to happen. The Republican Party has promised him they won't stop him with impeachment. Well, if they're not gonna do that, he's contemplating executive action on immigration. He's planning executive action on a number of things.
I guarantee you what he's gonna say.
If this is a massive defeat for the Democrats, if it is this wave landslide defeat, do you know what he's gonna say? He's gonna say that he's got to save the country from the Republicans. He's just gonna assume that. For the sake of getting his words out there, he's just gonna adopt the attitude that the nation is now scared to death that the Republicans -- the people conducting the War on Women, the racists, the sexists, the bigots, and the homophobes -- have somehow wrested control of the US Senate.

It's his job to make sure they don't matter. He's going to portray these election results as a national crisis that only he can now save the country from. The media will be right in there with him. The media will help however they can to spin this away from whatever. (interruption) It doesn't matter. I know the country is who voted. It doesn't matter.
The arrogance, the supremacy, the superiority, the confidence that he has knowing the media is gonna back him up means he will say whatever his base believes. His base is going to believe whatever he says. His base is going to think that the election was stolen from 'em, that there was massive the cheating, that the win was illegitimate, and the country is now facing a grave crisis.
Because these hatemongers and these racists and these sexists and so forth are now in control of the Senate. Look, folks, don't be frightened by this. I hope I'm wrong. But I know these people. I know what they're gonna do. I know how Obama is gonna justify what his plans are the next two years. I'll give you an ultimate possibility, and that is, he wants the Republicans to win everything precisely so he can use the excuse that they won to do his executive orders.
"Okay. So these guys that don't like me, these guys who want me to fail just won, and I can't let down this country by failing! I can't allow myself to fail. These are the guys who want me to fail, and I have to save this country from these guys." Some variation of that. But let's look at the other side here. There will be a mandate. If the Republicans win -- and hear me and hear me loud on this -- there will be a Republican mandate.
The Republican Party is going to have one hell of a mandate, by the way, if its wins. The Republican Party's gonna have one of the most important, biggest mandates I can recall a party ever having. It is going to have won for one reason: To stop Obama. That is their mandate. That is why they're going to win. That is why people are voting against Obama: To stop him.

Democrats, Reagan Democrats, moderates, Northerners, Southerners, Catholics, Irish, you name it. Everybody who makes up the coalition voting against Obama tomorrow is doing so to stop Obama. They're doing so hoping they're stopping Obamacare. They do so hoping they're putting people back at work. They're voting against Obama hoping to reignite the US economy. They're voting against Obama to STOP open borders!
They are voting against Obama to stop everything that's going on. That is a huge mandate. The Republicans may not, as we sit here today, realize this. But that's why they're gonna win. They have no other thing to fall back on. They have not offered an agenda, strategically and by design. They have offered nothing. They have not said, "Vote for us because we will do X."
They haven't even said, "Vote for us," other than individually in their campaigns. But in terms of nationally and having an agenda and a message that is identified with the Republican Party, something that builds the Republican Party brand? There isn't one. Or am I missing something? Speak now if I'm forgetting something, but I think by design the Republican Party has gone silent. Correct? (interruption)
They have gone silent. They remain silent. Now individual candidates are saying whatever they're saying, don't misunderstand. But I'm talking about the overall message. Ask somebody who just got here from Mars, "What's the Republican Party stand for?" They don't know. Ask somebody in Oregon, "What's the Republican Party stand for?" They'll say, "I don't know. They're not Obama. That's it."
    This is not a criticism.
It's just the way it's happened. As such, whether they know it or not, they are going to have one of the biggest and most important mandates a political party has ever had -- one of the most specific mandates -- and they're gonna acquire this mandate without ever having articulated it. That mandate is to stop Obama. What else can their mandate be?
If we have a record turnout for midterms, if we have this wave defeat for the Democrat Party -- which is what it's gonna be. If it's a wave anything, it will be a wave Republican victory, but if there are these massive defeats, if it is a Democrat Party catastrophe, there's only going to be one reason for it. People want what's happening now to stop.
This is why, ladies and gentlemen, Chuck Todd and all the Democrats and all the media are out saying that they hear people saying (sobbing), "They really don't want to, but they're just so upset. They gotta vote against Obama the Democrats, but they really hate hoping for Republicans to win. They really are holding their noses!" I've never heard this tried before; they're trying it.
They're trying to convince as many people as possible that a landslide defeat for a particular party is actually a defeat for the party that wins. That's what they're trying to create. So whether the Republican leadership knows it or not -- whether they have stopped to consider it or not, whether they will stop to consider it or not and whether they will act on it or not -- the fact remains.

Even with their strategic silence during this campaign, they will have a mandate with their victory.
That mandate is to stop Barack Obama.
Stop the policies of Barack Obama and the policies of the Democrat Party; to stop what Harry Reid has been doing, both policy-wise, the way he's talking, the way he is polluting the entire institution of American politics. Ditto, Pelosi. Ditto, Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz. I'm sorry if you Democrat Underground types haven't stopped to consider this. But it's gonna be a huge mandate. You're out there trying to devise this scheme where the Republicans win without a mandate. Ha-ha-ha.
The voters provide the mandate. The voters are gonna be voting for a reason. And it's not just 'cause they're tired and want a change. They are voting to stop what is happening. They are voting to stop the policies of the Democrat Party and Barack Obama. Therefore, it is going to be up to the Republican Party to rise up, to accept this mandate and use it. That means no amnesty. That means secure the borders. That means stop all of this unnecessary federal spending, stop the welfare state, reduce the growth of government.
This will be the mandate. There can be no other. There can be no other. An election with this much passion, an election with this many millions of people showing up and standing athwart history and yelling, "Stop!" cannot be portrayed as simply a bunch of people who are tired and want to vote for the other guys for a change.
This is an election with a singular purpose, a primary, main energizing impetus and reason for showing up and voting. It is to stop the expansion of the policies of the Democrat Party and Barack Obama. And the Republican Party is being voted for to do just that. Whether they want to admit that they've got this mandate or not, that is what is on the ballot tomorrow, and that is why everybody needs to show up and vote, to stop what is happening to our country.

Top Obama Aide: 'We're in for a S**t Storm if We Lose the Senate'

by Wynton Hall 3 Nov 2014, 8:46 AM PDT 1301 post a comment
US midterm elections could see Republicans take over Congress

    Video at the page link:

Washington (AFP) - Approaching 'midterm' elections in the US could make life more difficult for President Obama, with many pollsters expecting the Senate to be won by Republican rivals, a result that would give them control of both houses of Congress. Duration: 02:25
    AFP

A top Obama aide says if pollsters' projections of a GOP Senate takeover hold up on Election Day Tuesday, President Barack Obama and his administration are in for a world of hurt.

"We know we're in for a s**t storm if we lose the Senate. You have to gird yourself mentally 'cause you are going to come out on the other end," a "top Obama aide" told Politico Magazine.
The aide added, "But, you hit bottom, and then you have the Obama comeback story."
Politico says such a comeback, however, is unlikely.
Senior Politico writer Glenn Thrush and White House Politico reporter Carrie Budoff Brown write:
It's hard to see that comeback just now, what with Obama's slow-footed responses to an array of crises and forehead-slapping lapses like his decision to play 18 holes of golf after issuing a statement condemning the American journalist James Foley's decapitation by Islamic State militants in August.
Indeed, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that even 47% of Democrats say Obama must change his lackluster leadership style.
Voters head to the polls Tuesday.

Obama had the best chance of any president in recent history but his anger at America and it's people simply was too strong so instead he signed on to failure.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

Hey Barack: What Do You Have To Say To That!

    American Voters: Rock Obama’s World

    Michael BeckerNovember 3, 2014

Barack Obama made it about him. After all, in his world, everything has always been about Barack Obama.

Barack Obama made it about him. After all, in his world, everything has always been about Barack Obama. It’s fun watching that world shrink, and Tuesday is your opportunity to make it shrink even more.

    Video at the page link:

Barack put himself and his policies front and center. Democrats, especially Senate Democrats, have been running away from him and from his policies like they were Ebola. In fact, they’re far more dangerous than Ebola. The current worst case scenario is 133 cases of Ebola in the US over the next three months. More people than that die from gang violence in Chicago in any given month. Barack Obama’s, and Democratic, policies are quickly ripping the fabric that holds our nation together. If he gets his way, if Democrats get their way, the United States of America will be a third world hellhole that looks like Mexico in 20 to 30 years.

Every Republican candidate has been running against Barack Obama. Here’s an example of that, in what looks to be a big win in Iowa.
Iowa Republican Joni Ernst and her surrogates have made the president the central issue in her Senate campaign.
“Let me just say that probably the happiest guy in the country today is Jimmy Carter,” Rep. Tom Latham (R-Iowa) quipped to a crowd in Ames on the final night of Ernst’s 99-county tour. “Because Barack Obama is making him look competent.”
Making fun of a powerful figure is the most humiliating form of argument, especially when they have no come-back. We’ve seriously enjoyed watching OFA trolls commenting on what a fantastic President TheOne has been. It’s really pathetic.
We want to be clear, we’re not happy with many of the Republicans in the race. Can’t stand Thad Cochran in MI, Pat Roberts in KS, Mitch McConnell in KY, John Boehner in OH, etc. We would absolutely vote for them if we lived in their states. (If we were Democrat, we’d vote for their opponents without regard to what state we lived in.)
Please, get off the couch and go vote. Your nation is depending on you.

    The Love Affair Ends

    By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 3rd, 2014 at 04:30 AM | 56

Voters around the country will head into Election Day prepared to end their love affair with Barack Obama. Republicans should be cautious in how they interpret the voters’ mixed signals.
First, it is important to understand the president’s delusions. A series of reports have come out that the White House believes Democrats should embrace the president. Never mind that only a month ago White House aides said the president would be fine if Democrats campaigned against him. It appears the president is still taking it personally. One almost expects President Obama to announce publicly that these Democrats will deny him three times before the rooster crows on Election Day morning.
“He doesn’t think they have any reason to run away from him. He thinks there is a strong message there,” a White House official told the Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty. But everything on the ground shows how much further the Democrats should have run away. In Kentucky, the Democrats’ candidate Allison Grimes refuses to say if she voted for Barack Obama. In Colorado, both the Democrats’ Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM)Heritage ActionScorecard

    Sen. Tom Udall

0% Senate Democrat Average 3% See Full Scorecard 0% and Gov. Hickenlooper look set for defeat. Both wrapped their arms around Obamacare, and now both are running from it as quickly as possible.
A very visible reminder of the President’s baggage showed up in polling averages in the Georgia Senate race. Democrat Michelle Nunn outspent Republican David Perdue for most of the past month in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Polling showed her surge as David Perdue declined. Republicans nationally freaked out that they could lose Georgia. But that all changed on Oct. 22, 2012.
That day, President Obama went on V-103, the most popular radio station in Atlanta’s black community. He urged voters to support Michelle Nunn. He said his agenda could not be carried out without Michelle Nunn in the Senate. On that day, Michelle Nunn’s support in polling averages surpassed that of David Perdue.
The next day, Republicans began running ads with President Obama’s statement. They coupled those ads with an earlier statement from Michelle Nunn that she would defer to the president on issues. Nunn’s surge came to an end and gravity took over. In less than 48 hours from President Obama’s radio appearance, David Perdue retook the lead in the polls.
As President Obama’s support collapses and more national polls show even female voters want Republicans in charge of the Senate, Republicans should be careful how they interpret this development. Essentially, all the Republican leaders have done is say loudly “we are not Barack Obama.”
Voters may not like the President’s job performance, but they still largely like the president personally. Republicans would be wise to see voters more as spurned lovers hoping to make their boyfriend jealous. Republicans are being used by voters who desperately want to love Barack Obama again. Only it will not happen.
With the president headed into official lame-duck status, Democrats need to pin all the blame on him personally. Whoever the Democratic nominee is for 2016, they will run on a platform of what government can do for you. Consequently, as more Americans believe big government is a failure, Democrats must convince voters that it is Barack Obama, not government, who failed.
Republicans are just a useful pawn in this scheme. However, Republicans can capitalize on this. It has not gone unnoticed that, despite press reports on how awesome Obamacare is, people still deeply dislike it. Republican outside groups ran loudly in opposition to Obamacare, though Republican leaders rarely mentioned it. Showing Republicans are willing to engage in repeal of Obamacare would help them.
It should also be noted that the Republicans who have done best this year have been those who have run as actual conservatives. The small government message has worked for Republicans. Voters, right now, are willing to go GOP just to make Obama jealous. Republicans have an opportunity to keep the voters with them if they just govern as the small government conservatives they claimed to be on the campaign trail.

The Mandate: Republicans Were Elected to Stop Barack Obama, Not to Work with Him

    November 05, 2014

    Windows Media

    BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: What I want to do here is cut to the chase. The result yesterday is exactly what I said it would be. The Republican Party now has one of the most important and unquestionable mandates a political party has ever had at its junction with American history, especially a political party which did not run on a national agenda. The Republican Party purposely stood mute nationally.
Now, if you go into the races, the House and Senate raises all over the country, you will find that many Republican candidates ran specifically against Obamacare, and that is an important note to make and an important thing for you to remember. Individual Republican candidates won, and they won big. They won in a wave landslide running against Obamacare. The national Republican brand or image didn't say a word, which makes the mandate that they have all the more incredible.

It is rare that a political party running for office in a midterm election not standing for anything ends up with a mandate, and they have one, and it is the biggest and perhaps the most important mandate a political party has had in the recent era, and it is very simple what that mandate is. It is to stop Barack Obama. It is to stop the Democrats. There is no other reason why Republicans were elected yesterday. Republicans were not elected to govern.
How can you govern with a president that disobeys the Constitution? How can you govern with a president that is demonstrably lawless when he thinks he has to be? The Republican Party was not elected to fix a broken system or to make it work. The Republican Party was not elected to compromise. The Republican Party was not elected to sit down and work together with the Democrats. The Republican Party was not elected to slow down the speed the country is headed to the cliff and go over it slowly.
The Republican Party was elected to stop before we get to the cliff. And that's the mandate: to stop Obamacare; to stop amnesty; to stop the open borders policy of Obama and the Democrats; to stop the Big Government assault on the free enterprise economy; to stop national security policies that have allowed terrorist networks all over the world to pop up and fill a vacuum created by the absence of the world's lone superpower on the world stage. That must be stopped.
The Republican Party was elected to stop the run-up of a debt greater than all previous presidents combined have created. The Republican Party was elected to stop efforts by this administration to use the IRS and other agencies of government, in violation of manners and law, in attacking political opponents. The Republican Party was elected to put an end to this incessant and divisive lie that is the War on Women. Yesterday's result cannot in any way mean that voters want Republicans to work with Democrats. And anybody who tells you that and anybody who thinks that could not be more dangerously wrong.
You do not have election results like we had yesterday with the intent being that the voters intend the winners to work with the losers. This election was about stopping the losers, in this case the Democrats. There can be no other correct analysis of what this election was about. They were not elected to "fix a broken system."

They were elected to stop the people who are breaking the system.
The results do not mean that voters want Republicans to govern. The election does also not mean that the country's become conservative. It can't be said that there was an ideological component to the mandate, because the Republicans did not run on ideology. The Republicans ran everywhere to stop Obama, and that's what the mandate is. Now, whether they want to accept the mandate or not, that's another question.
Whether they are even aware of the mandate is an even bigger question. As I listen to the wizards of smart -- all the analysts of both parties, all movements on TV last night and today -- the thing I'm hearing from everybody is that what the voters want is for Washington to compromise and people to work together. That's not what they said.
That is not what the voters said. They didn't say it in the exit polls. They didn't say it in the election results. This was a skunking of the Democrat Party. This was the people of America "standing athwart history and yelling, 'Stop!'" There's only one entity that can do that, and that's the Republican Party. They were not elected to "get along." They were not elected to "reach across the aisle."
They were not elected to "compromise." They were not elected to "end gridlock." They were elected to stop the policies of Barack Obama and the Democrat Party. Too much damage has been done to too many people. Because of a president of the United States, people are having their jobs converted from full time to part time. The American people didn't think that was on the table.
They didn't think the president, when he was promoting Obamacare, meant that they were gonna get fewer hours to work. They didn't think it meant that they were gonna lose their health care. They didn't think it meant that their premiums were gonna skyrocket. The American people showed up yesterday and voted in numbers and voices with one message: "Stop this!" There is no legitimate alternative analysis.
I don't even know how you come up with the idea or the conclusion that the message in the vote yesterday is, "Yeah, they want us to cross the aisle and work with the Democrats." If they wanted you to work with the Democrats, you wouldn't have won. If they wanted the Republicans to work with the Democrats and to help the Democrats accomplish more, they would have just elected the Democrats!
"Yeah, well, they want us to work together. They want us to fix things. They want to stop gridlock." No, no, no. They want as much gridlock as it takes to stop what's going on. The country is careening out of control. All of the public opinion shows show it. Right track/wrong track? Two-thirds of America says: Wrong track. The number was increasing as we got closer to the election.

The mandate the Republicans have is to stop Barack Obama, to stop the further implementation of Obamacare, to stop government policies that are destroying the private, free-enterprise economy. Voters across this country know this is not how this country is supposed to be. They know that this is not what they were electing in 2008 and 2012.
So they have shown up here; they have thrown Democrats out of office all over this country. They have thrown Democrats out. Even the polling data could not have been more wrong in several key races, and that's a subject for later on in the program. But there is no confusion about the message the voters sent yesterday.
It may be the myth or the dream of the establishment types from both parties in Washington that what all this means is, "Ah, they want us to work together to get things done. They want us compromise and like each other and stop all the arguing and stop all the acrimony. They just want everybody have fun, go-along-to-get-along and get things done."
That's not what this vote was about. This vote was about stopping Barack Obama. It can't be that it was about anything else. Now, how do we do this? How do you go about stopping Barack Obama when you've taken impeachment off the table? Well, let's listen to Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz was on Fox this morning about 12:40.
He was interviewed by Bret Baier. Baier said, "One of the messages of this election could be that America wants to see Washington work. Some people said compromise would be a good thing. What's your thought on that sometimes evil word, 'compromise,' in Washington?"

CRUZ: It is incumbent on Republicans to stand up and lead. It is incumbent on us to deliver that bold, positive, optimistic agenda. You know, the fact that the people rose up and voted the Democrats out of power doesn't necessarily mean they trust the Republicans. They've given us another chance. But we've got to earn that trust, and the way to earn that trust is to listen to the priorities of the people.
And I hope come January Republicans stand united, we stand as one, and we systematically -- one after the other -- vote on positive, pro-growth ideas. We vote on tax reform. We vote on regulatory reform. We vote on embracing the American energy renaissance. We vote on going after and stopping Obamacare. We deliver on the promises that Republicans campaigned on.
RUSH: Bret Baier then says, "Well, you bring up Obamacare. You have a Democrat president. His name's on the legislation. He's gonna veto whatever you send up there. So how do you do it?"
CRUZ: With Obamacare, I think we should start by using reconciliation to pass complete and total repeal. Now, you're right: The president will, in all likelihood, veto that. If that happens, we should then systematically repeal the most onerous parts of Obamacare. We should pass legislation saying, you can't have your health insurance canceled because of Obamacare.
We should pass legislation saying, you can't be forced into part-time work like so many people, especially single moms have been. We should pass legislation saying, no bailouts for insurance companies under Obamacare. And force the president to pace those single, rifle-shot repeals and decide whether he's gonna listen to the American people or just remain an absolute partisan. And, you know, if he vetoes those bills, I think there's a real chance we might be able to get the votes to override those vetoes.
RUSH: That's how you do it. That's how you start. That's how you use the ammunition you have in your arsenal. But you must understand. They, the Republican Party, must understand that they have one objective. There was one lesson that was being taught last night, one message being sent: "Stop Obama. Stop this. Stop this country careening out of control and being transformed into something it was never founded nor intended to be.
"Stop the Democrat Party. Stop Barack Obama." The Democrat Party part of that has been dealt with in the Senate and the House. Make no mistake: If voters wanted Republicans to work with Democrats, they wouldn't have seen to it that so many Democrats got creamed last night. The country is tired of Democrats. The country is worn out with Democrats.
The country's depressed because of Democrats. The country is out of work because of Democrats. The country is feeling aimless because of Democrats. The country is not optimistic about its future because of Democrats! There is no way the vote yesterday was a signal to work with them. They have had six years of unstoppable destruction, and the American people -- and I, by the way -- want it stopped.

We were founded over 200-plus years ago, and when you get down to brass tacks, this is the first man who has attempted to pretend the Constitution isn't there. The precarious balance can be called the honor system. We have a Constitution. For all of these years it has been respected as though it is a rock, it is unalterable.

RUSH: Peter in York, Pennsylvania. I'm glad you called, sir. Welcome to the program.
CALLER: Hello, Rush. It's nice to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.

CALLER: I called you three times, and I've gotten through to you three times. Must be magical between you and I. I'm very concerned, Rush. First of all, you're always right, and I really don't like that. It's like you're in my head sometimes when you say things. But you said something that everybody should listen to and remember. We have a president who does not care about the law.
This country has faced many, many evil things over the years, but right now the next two years are gonna be very dangerous, Rush. 'Cause this man will do anything to further his agenda. He will do anything to make this country a second-rate country. I've listened to him. I've even tried to like him. But I just can't, and I don't trust him at all. You're absolutely correct. He's a dangerous individual, and he's much more dangerous, I think, than the Republicans realize.
RUSH: Oh, I think he's more dangerous than most people realize. I don't think people -- and you can't blame 'em -- I don't think very many people stop to think about how precariously balanced America is every day anyway. Think about something. We were founded over 200-plus years ago, and when you get down to brass tacks, this is the first man who has attempted to pretend the Constitution isn't there. The precarious balance can be called the honor system. We have a Constitution. For all of these years it has been respected as though it is a rock, it is unalterable.
Now, there are people that don't like it, and they've blown through it, the Second Amendment types, and we know the battles that have been fought, but we've never had somebody pretend it isn't there. The Constitution itself has always been the backstop. How precarious a balance is that for a country? There are constitutional remedies if somebody does what Obama does, but the Republican Party's taken them off the table. So the only thing that keeps the Constitution relevant and meaningful is Barack Obama's willingness to honor it. And if he chooses not to, then what? And that's what he's demonstrated that he's perfectly willing to do. He's already done that. He's promising to continue.

    The Midterm Obama Repudiation Referendum

    By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | November 5th, 2014 at 06:00 PM | 1

As the New York Times put it, Riding a wave of discontent, “Republicans took control of the Senate on Tuesday night, expanded their hold on the House, and defended some of the most closely contested governors’ races, in a repudiation of President Obama.”
In another Times article it was reported that Obama complained that the Republican victory should not be blamed on him:
    “He doesn’t feel repudiated.”
Obama should feel repudiated. As summarized below, the Republican wave was big and Obama made a monster mistake when he nationalized the midterm election telling his audience at Northwestern University his policies were on the ballot:
Now, I am not on the ballot this fall. Michelle is pretty happy about that. But make no mistake: These policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.
You can watch a video clip of Obama’s mistake here.
Here’s a summary of the midterm Obama repudiation referendum.

And while the Republicans retained a number of governorships, none was more noteworthy than Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker who won his third governor’s race in four years – two regular elections and a recall election.

No, this was not a defeat for incumbents. It was not a rejection of incumbents. This was a rejection of liberalism. Whether the voters know that or not, liberalism is what this country has been in the shackles of for six years.

    A Rejection of Liberalism

    BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: No, this was not a defeat for incumbents. It was not a rejection of incumbents. This was a rejection of liberalism. Whether the voters know that or not, liberalism is what this country has been in the shackles of for six years. Liberalism is what is ruining this country. The people who voted yesterday said, "No more! No mas! Stop it!" The people of this country yesterday went to vote, and they rejected liberal Democrat policies.
There can be no other analysis of this, not honest. You can lie to yourself if you're a Democrat, and even if you're Republican you can lie to yourself and say, "The voters want us to fix a broken system. The voters want us to work together." B! S! The voters want whatever they see happening, stopped. You and I know it as liberalism. They may not know what it is, although I think a majority do.
But regardless, they want it stopped! This is not the America that everybody has come to know and expect. The idea that America's best days are behind us? Who says? That's hogwash, and nobody wants to believe that. We don't want to be told, "This is the new reality and that we'd better accept an America in decline because an American super-status nation, an American superpower nation? Oh, no, that doesn't work anymore. We're all together now in a global community."
BS. That is not what the American people want. The American people don't want a vacuum around the world where terrorist groups like ISIS rise up, Boko Haram rise up, Al-Qaeda rise up. The American people do not want infectious diseases all over the world brought into this country. The American people want America to remain what it always has been: The greatest country on earth.
I finally heard a candidate say that last night! I actually, in an acceptance speech, heard a candidate call the United States of America "the greatest nation on earth," and I had to stop and think. I haven't heard a candidate of either party say that about this country in I don't know when, in I don't know how long. It was Joni Ernst. It was Joni Ernst, in her acceptance speech, when she described what she's gonna do.

She is going to go to Washington and "make them squeal," and she's talking about the Democrat Party and the Washington establishment. She is going to make them squeal. She said, "We are gonna make them squeal," and she described America as the greatest nation on earth, the greatest nation in history -- and it is, and the American people know it, and they want it to continue.
They want to live and be part of the greatest nation on earth, and they want to be among those who make it work, and they don't want to hear how the best days are behind us. They don't want to hear how, "Well, the past, trickle-down? It was living on borrowed time and wasn't real. It really wasn't real. This is the real America, where we have to redistribute limited resources." That's not what this country is.
It's not what the people of this country want this country to be, and they went to the polls yesterday and they knocked that premise out of the park. They don't want Democrat Party Lite. They don't want compromise. They don't want the Republicans to go there and do a little bit of what Obama does just so everybody's smiling. They want this stopped! There can be no other analysis. There can be no alternative take on this.
Now, I realize some of you in the New Castrati, the metrosexuals among you might be yelling at your radio (impression), "Mr. Limbaugh, you simply are wrong! I know for a fact that many of my friends want Washington to work together, and that's what the election meant." Really? Where do you get that?
Honestly, if you happen to hold that view, that the election yesterday means voters want the Democrats and the Republicans to work together, how in the world do you get that? There isn't one candidate who said that's what he was gonna do that won. The candidates that won promised to stop Obamacare, but other things, too. Even if they hadn't, how do you get that?
Don't you understand that is a Democrat myth, just like, "The independents don't like Democrats being criticized. If Republicans criticize Democrats, the independents are not gonna put up with that and they'll go running right back to the Democrat Party!" Really? Yeah? That's a myth. That's a lie. Another Democrat myth is, "The Republicans are never, ever gonna win another election unless they get on board and support amnesty."
Really? How do you explain last night. Name for me one Republican who won promising to work with Obama on amnesty. You can't produce such candidate, 'cause he doesn't exist. So where do you get this idea that the election means the voters want the parties to compromise and to work together and to govern with no acrimony? Where do you get that? You can't find that message.
That's not what elections are about, anyway. Elections are about winners and losers, and last night the Democrats lost. It means the Republicans won. It means the Republicans' job is to dominate, to stop the Democrats, pure and simple. It doesn't mean work with 'em. It doesn't mean compromise. It doesn't mean share the majority leadership position with Harry Reid. It means get rid of Harry Reid!
