    Legendary Los Angeles broadcaster and talk show host George Putnam died Friday morning of cardiac arrest in a Chino hospital. He was 94.

    Putnam’s career began in Minneapolis. He would later do 14 programs a week for NBC in New York. He also shared commentary duties with Lowell Thomas on Fox Movietone News.

    He moved to Los Angeles in 1951 and helped create the local television news format as we know it today when he began anchoring a 15-minute newscast at KTTV/11 in the 1950s. He interviewed the rich and the famous, the everyday people from all walks of life, delivered commentaries called “One Reporter’s Opinionâ€

    That is sad news. I used to listen to him everyday and that is how I found about the whole illegal alien problem and ALIPAC.

    I hope he is at peace. I'll miss that Great Patriot!
