Scott Walker leads tight GOP pack in new Iowa Poll

Presidential stage newcomer Scott Walker, the conservative reform pit bull who inspired death threats from the left, has become the one to watch in the race for the Republican nomination a year out from the Iowa caucuses.

At 15 percentage points, he leads a big, tightly packed field of potential contenders in a new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll of likely Republican caucus goers. The caucuses are scheduled for Feb. 1, 2016.

The Wisconsin governor is also the No. 2 most popular choice for likely caucus goers who want an establishment candidate, and he's the No. 2 for those who want an anti-establishment candidate, the poll shows.

"He's in a sweet spot," pollster J. Ann Selzer said. "People who don't want an ultra-conservative think he's OK. People who don't want a moderate think he's OK."

Just one point behind is Rand Paul, a U.S. senator from Kentucky and the son of three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul, a hero to dissidents who want to shake up government.

Paul draws support from the same anti-establishment well.

Rounding out the top tier are Mitt Romney, the GOP's 2012 presidential nominee; Mike Huckabee, the 2008 winner of the Iowa caucuses; Ben Carson, a best-selling author and famed brain surgeon; and Jeb Bush, a relative to two past presidents.

    RELATED IOWA POLL COVERAGE:

The day after polling wrapped up, Romney announced he's out of the competition. When the numbers in this poll are shuffled — by giving Romney's votes to the contenders his supporters named as their second-choice pick — the five others in the top tier gain support.

Huckabee, a former TV commentator and two-term Arkansas governor, benefits the most, picking up 3 percentage points.

The pecking order doesn't shift, though.

For the bottom tier, the horse race ranking shifts slightly without Romney in the mix. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie moves up a notch to tie with Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz for sixth place. Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania stays in eighth. Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio climbs one spot into ninth, followed by former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is next, followed by a three-way tie among TV star and real estate developer Donald Trump, former computer company CEO Carly Fiorina and Ohio Gov.

John Kasich. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence doesn't register on poll respondents' radar.

Republican Voter Fraud Found as Scott Walker Supporter Charged With 13 Felonies In Wisconsin

    By: Jason Easley

It turns out that voter fraud is real. A Republican Scott Walker supporter in Wisconsin has been charged with 13 felony counts related to voter fraud.

    According to WisPolitics.com:

Robert Monroe, a 50-year-old Shorewood health insurance executive, was charged Friday with 13 felonies related to his voting a dozen times in five elections between 2011 and 2012 using his own name as well as that of his son and his girlfriend’s son.

According to those records, Monroe was considered by investigators to be the most prolific multiple voter in memory. He was a supporter of Gov. Scott Walker and state Sen. Alberta Darling, both Republicans, and allegedly cast five ballots in the June 2012 election in which Walker survived a recall challenge.

According to the John Doe records, Monroe claimed to have a form of temporary amnesia and did not recall the election day events when confronted by investigators.

Hallelujah!!!! Republicans have found their voter fraud. Unfortunately for them, they are the ones committing it. The Monroe case is even worse, because he voted multiple times in the April 2011 Wisconsin Supreme Court race that required a recount. This isn’t the first episode of Republican voter fraud in the state. In 2011, a Republican legislative aide was investigated for voting multiple times.

The greatest irony of all is that the Monroe case exposes why voter ID laws don’t do what Republicans claim they do. Since Republicans benefit most from absentee voting, they have refused to address the glaring potential for fraud by absentee ballot. The Republican in Wisconsin was able to commit multiple acts of state and federal voter fraud by using absentee ballots for state elections, and driving across state lines for federal elections.

Republican voter ID laws address none of these issues, and instead focus on suppressing the vote by requiring voters who are more likely to vote for Democrats to show identification. A person is least likely to have identification if they are living in the city, and don’t drive. Voter ID laws are being used to suppress the votes of women by making strict rules about acceptable names on the identification.

It turns out that voter fraud is real, and Republicans are guilty of doing it.

Even though I don't support Scott Walker, this article does not reflect upon him in a negative way. He is obviously not responsible for the actions of every single Republican voter in his state. Truth be told, I'm more worried about fraud from the liberals. After all, if an illegal immigrant were to vote, it would be for a Democrat. With over 20 million of them in this country ...... that's something to worry about!

16 Republican candidates and there aren't but three that are worthy of further examination (IMO). They are:

    Bobby Jindal
    Rick Santorum
    Ted Cruz

To my knowledge all of the others have previously voiced their support for a path to legalization for illegal aliens (amnesty). If I'm wrong about any of them, please enlighten me. Has anyone seen or heard Jindal, Santorum, or Cruz voice support for amnesty?

Ive been told online that Grover Norquist is fully behind Scott Walker and if that is true then it means Walker supports amnesty for illegals because Grover Norquist is one of the architects of the illegal alien invasion of America!

JD2, can you get us a confirm on amnesty architect Grover Norquist being on the Scott Walker train?
