Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton announced the initiative and the launching of the 'Study in the States' website Friday afternoon in a conference call from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

    Study in the States

"The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is launching a new initiative to enhance our nation's economic, scientific and technological competitiveness by finding new, innovative ways to encourage the best and brightest international students to study and remain in the United States. Foreign students and exchange visitors bring invaluable contributions to our nation, and the Study in the States initiative is an important step in empowering the next generation of international entrepreneurs right here in America." DHS, Sept. 16, 2011.

I wonder how many people it takes (salaries) to run this site. More government expansion and I am sure they have to be multi lingual.

They just cannot get these people here fast enough! One sentence caught my attention:

ICE Director Morton said the intent of the initiative was to encourage more than 1.1 million international students, visitors and their dependents now in the United States to stay while improving the integrity of the nation’s immigration law enforcement.
Students, visitors and their dependents? Does going to school here on a student visa qualify their entire extended family to come here as well? Nothing would surprise me anymore with this corrupted, open borders administration in charge.

One thing I have always wondered about , is why we educate the rest of the world to begin with? Knowledge should be considered a proprietary possession. It is intellectual property after all. Education is one of the largest exports. Why should we teach them how to become more competitive and basically how to beat us at our own game? I never have taught anyone EVERYTHING I KNOW, IF you do that where is your edge?
