White House and U.S. Senate Announce Bipartisan Agreement on Immigration Reform
Statement by Ambassador Antonio O. Garza

Mexico City, May 17, 2007 – “Today, members of the U.S. Senate, with the support of White House officials, reached an agreement on a comprehensive proposal to overhaul our current immigration system.

“Throughout his tenure, President Bush has worked diligently to achieve comprehensive immigration reform. Thanks to his leadership on this issue, we now are a significant step closer to improving an immigration system in desperate need of reform.

“The agreement made today not only addresses the status of the approximately 12 million undocumented residents already in the United States, but also provides for increased border security measures, stronger workforce enforcement provisions, and a temporary guest worker program to bring workers legally into the United States. The agreement also would change the emphasis for those seeking legal residency through proper channels to a merit-based system that takes into account job skills, English proficiency, and education.

“While our path to immigration reform has been a long one, I feel confident that ultimately our government is going to act consistently with the desire of Americans to have both a secure and a welcoming country. I am sure that in the coming weeks we will continue to see vigorous and, at times, heated debate by our lawmakers as they work towards a final resolution of these difficult issues.â€

At least the communists were ashamed in East Germany & had to
build a wall to keep its citizens from leaving. Mexico doesn't have
the decency nor the shame to admit failure & seems to take pride
when their citizens wave Mexican flags in our streets.

Why don't they pay ATTENTION TO MEXICO...and STAY THE HELL OUT OF OUR BUSINESS
Never look at another flag. Remember, that behind Government, there is your country, and that you belong to her as you do belong to your own mother. Stand by her as you would stand by your own mother

Because our President and the Mexican Government have the same agenda. They both want he NAU and amnesty for illegals. If our govenment cared about us, Mexico would not be in our business.

Ever since Bush first became president... he does nothing but jam Mexico down our throats. He's made a mess of everything he touches, especially the war. Almost everyday we have to put up with his obsession with Mexico and his Amnesty that he calls a comprehensive immigration plan. I'm sick of Bush and I'm sick of all the illegals he has let into this country. The damage this man has done to this country is probably irreversible. We have a president who must hate America. His only compassion is for the people who are invading this country.

Very true Molly! It is a very good thing that there are lots of patriotic Americans fighting for America through activism or he would have already had his evil agenda pushed through! We must remain unitied against this insanity!
