Thread: NUMBERS USA Conference Call Just Concluded! Good News!

This from a San Diego Minuteman:

I just got off the conference call with Roy Beck, Tom Tancredo, and Rosemary Jenks. Word has just come down from the Senate that Harry Reid DOES NOT have the 60 votes needed for cloture! If this holds, then hopefully this bill is on its way to a slow death in the Senate! This is all because of YOU! Your calls and FAXES have showed senators, both Republican and Democrat, that this bill is horrible for our country.

I also want to thank Enrique Morones for pushing hard to defeat this bill also. With his help, we will stop any amnesty bills and proceed with the 854 miles of fence that Duncan Hunter got approved last October and tougher employer enforcement!

Keep calling Congress and the President today and tomorrow and tell them NO to SB 1348. The key thing to say is we'd rather have NO BILL than this highly flawed amnesty bill.

Roy also announced that Numbers USA membership has skyrocketed to about 375,000!!! They started the year about 200,000. The sleeping giant has awoken! This is huge news for our efforts! I really hope it is official that reid didn't get the votes he needed. This would represent a huge victory on our part.

We definitely need to keep calling and saying "no" to cloture! It was also made clear on the conference call that if we don't stop this dreadful bill in the Senate here & now, we'll be fighting it for years to come!

You know Bush, Kennedy, Graham, McCain, Clinton, Reid etc. are trying to pressure people behind closed doors as this is a personal thing to them. They want this win badly and will do anything to get it.
