    War on Drugs

I just saw a show on BET TV that basically said that if we were serious about fighting a war on drugs we wouldn't wait until the drugs were in our city's to fight it. [That we wouldn't waste money trying to fight this war in some other country.] That the solution to the war of drugs is controlling our borders. But our politicians aren't serious about controlling our borders. If we sealed our borders, we would put a serious damper on drugs because we could shut down all illegal drug imports at the border.

FYI I added the sentence between the brackets [] to the story. Something they should've but didn't say.

Sealing the border won't just stop illegal aliens, it will stop all forms of smuggling as well. The US government is supposed to be acting in the best interest of Americans. It is in the best interest of Americans to have 100% control of what enters and leaves this country.

    Glad you posted this.

    You are exactly right.

This country has yet to fight a war on drugs. The supply of drugs for drug dealers to sell in this country could be greatly diminshed if this nation's borders were sealed. The U.S. military should be on the southern border in large numbers right now to seal the southern border.

I do not support legalizing drugs. I don't believe an eighteen-year-old should be able to go to the store and buy cocaine.

I know that most people do not agree with this, but if you legalize drugs it would take the money magnet away and therer wouldn't be so much energy into selling them. If people want to do drugs, why not let them. Everyone has the freedom to fail and screw up their life. As long as they don't try to peddle it to minors. Maybe if our government passes more laws, no one will ever die we will be so safe. We have tooooooo many rules for our saftey. With freedom comes responsiblity.

That ignores the reality of drugs. By the time you realize you are hooked it is too late. Druggies aren't productive and would hurt our GNP. They would also fill up our emergency rooms costing our tax-payers huge amounts of money at a time period in their addiction when it would cost the most to facilitate them. It's easy to say no medical care for them, let them rot on the streets but we wouldn't actually do that. What kind of people would we have to become in order to do that.
