    Mexican flag at Tucson Airport

The Mexican flag is flying on a tall pole even with the American flag at the Tucson International Airport.

If this makes you mad - please call the Airport and complain:

What would possess them to fly the Mexican flag? They have to know such an action would be controversial. On the other hand, not flying it wouldn't even invite a grunt of disapproval from American citizens. I can't for the life of me understand why the airport would purposely anger their customers.

I just talked with the representative who answered the phone at 520-573-4868.

She said Tuscon is an international portal for Mexico as well as the U.S. and that the flag has been there for about 30 years.

I did register a complaint and told her that I think it is inappropriate to fly a Mexcan Flag anywhere in the U.S. She said she will pass the complaint on to the manager.

I called the 800 number Tex provided and left a voice message.

I also called Comments and Complaints 520-573-4868 and spoke to a real person!
    A summary of our conversation:
I told her I objected to the airport flying the Mexican flag, that I wanted passengers to know this was the United States of America not Mexico.
She argued the flags were out front, not in the terminal. Told her location didn't matter, this is the U.S.A. not Mexico!

She was not happy with me

This makes me sick. I just shot off an email to Kimberly. Told her I know a few people in the FAA (which I do) and if that flag didn't come down, I would be calling them. Probably won't do any good, but it's a shot.

Remember the guy who got the christmas tree taken down at an airport. If enough of us complain, who knows. Every body else cries discrimination in this country, why shouldn't we????
