Small petition to keep Donald Trump out of Canada

A petition to keep Donald Trump out of Canada is small, but seems to be growing.

"We suspect that there are reasonable grounds that Mr. Trump poses a security threat to Canadians based upon his remarks," wrote Rajin Singh, who started the petition on you.leadnow.ca, referring to the Republican front-runner's latest tirade to keep all Muslims out of the United States.

"Statements of this extreme nature may act to embolden violence against members of the Canadian Muslim population."

The petition goes on to cite reported hate crimes across the country, our Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Canada's history of taking vulnerable groups under its wing.

By early evening, the petition had garnered more than 1,500 signatures.

NDP Leader Tom Mulcair actually hinted support Tuesday for keeping Trump out.

"It's unacceptable to ban immigrants based on their religion but it is acceptable to ban someone for spouting hate, Mr. Trump," he tweeted but it is acceptable to ban someone for spouting hate, Mr. Trump," he tweeted.

I believe Canadians pose a security threat to the United States because they're stupid and let Syrian Refugees into their country.
