So let's turn the tables on Mexico...

I stand against ILLEGAL immigration, but I do support LEGAL immigration. That's also a core value for ALIPAC.

So let's turn the tables on Mexico and other countries. Let's have the U.S. Embassy in Mexico (as an example) personally interview, do background checks, and pre-certify Mexican citizens wishing to become U.S. citizens. Those who qualify would then be allowed to LEGALLY cross at the border and enter the U.S. as DOCUMENTED persons who would have to work and pay taxes.

ANY criminal convictions or other misbehavior would result in immediate deportation. They would in essence be on probation and their whereabouts tracked while following a prescribed course to eventual citizenship if they fulfull all the requirements.

The best part is that every single person currently in our country illegally has to LEAVE the U.S., go home, and apply there to take advantage of the program. If they qualify, then they would be entering our country LEGALLY. And isn't that the point? If they don't qualify, they are already out of our country and no longer our problem.

Obviously this does rely on enforcing our borders to be effective. But what would you think of an approach like this?

Wouldn't work. You won't get the 18 million illegals to up and leave to go file for a chance to work in the US.Also how can you do a background check with such a flimsy government is the Mexican government who likely doesn't keep such records unless major offenders like drug cartel leaders. Of course Mexico won't support giving the US Embassy access to their records. All a mexican has to say is a false name, and fill out an app and you can't disprove any of it.

We'd be flooded by a mass of people trying to become legal workers while we also still have major bad laws such as the citizenship birth on US soil law and a few others. The illegals wouldn't dare leave and risk what they have which for many is a fairly good life vs back in Mexico. They may have family members in Mexico fill out false applications for them and their family with false names and just send them across the border via mail.

Simply wouldn't do anything to help.

Exactly. The problem is that Mexicans already get preferential treatment through our legal immigration process, because of chain migration. A major issue in this entire debate is that under current law the vast majority of illegals will never qualify for naturalization even if they tried. And I am fine with that. The vast majority of people across the globe who wish to legally immigrate to the US will never make it. Why should Mexicans be given preferential treatment over those people? Because they broke in already? Why should Mexicans be given even more preferential treatment than they already enjoy in our immigration policy? And how can liberals call this blatant favoring of one nationality "diversity?"

If you want to really turn the tables on Mexico pack up your shit and we'll all move there suck the welfare dry, get drunk kill a few citizens each, file a lawsuit against the Government for discrimination against whites, and pass several laws demanding you let us stay, because we turned our country into a 3rd world shit hole, and further demand that you call us New Mexicans!

Moe, like where you are headed with this, but I have to diagree with you on at least one thing. If they commit an offense, you say deport them. I say, let them work for the country, tax free, making license plates or big rock into little rocks, whatever...just like those who are subject to the laws as citizens. Why? If you deport them, they will find another way back into the country. In many cases, they would be back the same day. We need something a little more permanent, a solution that prohibits them from reentering...wait! I've got it!!! Just secure the borders! Why didn't we think of that before???!!!

Supposedly we already do this. The problem is, why bother when you can just walk over with no problem.
