South Boston woman killed in horrific hate crime

Three women were attacked in a South Boston neighborhood within twenty four hours of each other. One was punched and two were stabbed. One of them, Amy Lord, was killed.

Amy Lord, was beaten, abducted, forced to withdraw money from ATM machines, and then stabbed to death. The perp took her car to a housing project and then set it on fire. The other stabbing victim was beaten and stabbed inside her own apartment when the assailant broke in. She escaped. Her condition is unknown.

Edwin Alamany, a young Latino male, with a serious criminal history was arrested yesterday. He has been sentenced to prison over and over since 1999. He was charged with the two non-fatal attacks, and is expected to be charged with the murder. His arraignment was postponed, because he was deemed “suicidal.”

The same suspect is also suspected of attacking a woman ten months ago. The perp is being described as a “drifter.”
