"Startup Visa" to import more foreigners

A Startup Visa proposal, that like the H-1B visa program, would have no real oversight, encourage loopholes and be a mechanism for taking more jobs from Americans:

    Another visa? Oh, good grief!
I strongly agree with the need for foreigners planning to invest in anything in this country to invest at least $1 million, as it shows they have the wherewithal to stay in business, build that business, and not go on the public dole.

Right...why would Americans need jobs? Yea sure ....let em all flood in. In fact we should make SEVERAL new visa categories, to accomodate the population of the entire world. We are halfway there already!!!

I just read the story as well as watched the video. Why can’t they just work from wherever they live? On my last project, I worked with people from 5 countries and never met a single one of them in person. While it’s not optimum, it’s certainly doable.
I would never be so arrogant as to move to another country and expect them to change for me.

Because in Amerika the streets are paved with gold!

    Quote from story:
"Ideally, an aspiring entrepreneur from Bangalore who has some chops and a wish to start the next Google in San Francisco should be able to immigrate and set up shop here. With a little venture backing, there’s virtually no downside since they won’t be taking out loans or stealing anyone else’s job. If their venture doesn’t work out (a likely scenario), they can pack their bags and head back home.

The potential upside, on the other hand, is obvious and enormous."

The more "potential downside" for U.S. citizens is that they will apply to bring all their relatives, and, "if the venture doesn't work out", they will either/or 1) possibly take a job that could have gone to a U.S. citizen so that they can stay in this country, and/or 2) apply for U.S. "benefits for all", from WIC and AFDC for their children through Medicare/Medicaid for their aging parents.
