State Department Doubles Refugee Inflow Since Court Ruling, Most From Terror-Prone Countries

    February 9, 2017

    Ben Kew

The U.S. State Department has more than doubled the refugee inflow from seven terror-prone countries since a Seattle judge’s decision to block President Donald Trump’s immigration reform, according to a report in The Washington Times.

Since the Feb. 3 ruling, 1,100 refugees have entered the United States, with 77 percent arriving from the seven terror-prone countries outlined on Trump’s executive order.

In a statement to The Washington Times, the State Department said the increase in numbers was a result of “rescheduling those whose travel had been suspended the previous week.”

The countries, which include Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen, were originally deemed a terror threat by President Barack Obama’s administration, as part of the Terrorist Prevention Act of 2015.

Out of the 1,100 refugees admitted, 346 come from Syria, while 232 originate from Iraq. Meanwhile, 64 per cent of recent arrivals identify as Muslim, compared to just 31 percent of arrivals in the first week of the Trump administration.

In his popular reform, Trump also promised to prioritize helping Christian refugees, who face religious persecution in the Middle-East, where the majority of the populations are Muslim.

On Wednesday, Trump criticized the increase in refugee settlers, arguing that the American people are “far more vulnerable.”

On Thursday, San Francisco’s federal appeals court refused to reinstate Trump’s travel order, arguing that “there is no precedent to support this claimed unreviewability, which runs contrary to the fundamental structure of our constitutional democracy.”

Trump immediately criticized the decision, claiming that “the security of our nation is at stake.” He is expected to lodge an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court.

I know how I would handle this. Resettle all 1,100 refugees in the neighborhoods of these liberal constitution breaking judges!
I don't mean the same town "on the south side" far away or anything like that. I mean right down the street. These judges love them so much then grant funds from their local municipality to go live right down the street. Have their children raped and beaten and blown to bits!

It's just despicable what's going on in our country. It's just horrible, inexplicable. Pompous evil is what it is.

This was all planned to stall the executive order. This was why they tried to make it immediate so this would not happen.

I hope Trump / Sessions have plans to deport them right back out of here. Set up Safe Zones on their soil and get them ALL out.

The new State Dept is NOT doing the job Americans are requesting. State Dept, DHS, DOJ all need to clean house of obama panderers and quickly. The presentation by a DOJ lawyer was lame re exec order muslim countries ban, and the State Dept couldn't wait to push thru muslims we do not want here.

This is why Trump needs to immediately revoke his original EO and issue a new one excluding green card holders, etc.,. If he gets hard nosed a falls for the bait, he will be in court for a very long time and our borders will be unprotected. I think this has been suggested to him by a number of people. Doing this [issuing a new modified EO] will also make the pinkos heads explode, especially those on the 9th Circuit Court because it wipes out their frivolous arguments.

YES!! Bravo, Johnwk. Very well said.

Rewrite it and move on now. Don't fall for their snake pit. Quickly back away and find a new route to achieve our mission. You don't take a knife to a gun-fight. The courts have the power and historically they have used their power to further immigration not curtail it, to sacrifice our safety, demean our citizenship and rob our treasuries for the benefits of immigrants and aliens, legal and illegal, to the detriment of citizens.

Take 2 major Supreme Court Rulings such as Wonk Van Ark that led to making the children of immigrants US citizens at birth which is the court ruling most anchor baby advocates hang their hats on, and of course Plyler vs Doe that forces US taxpayers to underwrite the public educations of illegal aliens. The courts are not our friends. Too many judges who were appointed by "identity politics" see our laws through the lens of their own personal history. Can not go there. Back away now.
