    Amnesty in piecemeal form

I wrote Senator Diane Feinstein the very day that S 1639 failed to get the votes needed to continue. I asked her if she would consider enforcing existing law. I got her reply today and in her letter she stated, plain as day,

    Dear Mr. Ross

Thank you for writing to me about the immigration reform debate that has been taking place during the 110th Congress.

The current immigration system is not working-our borders are broken, our national security is compromised, and there is no feasible way to identify and deal with the 10 to 12 million undocumented people now living in the United States. I understand there were mixed reactions to the bipartisan bill that the Senate considered and that there are very strong feelings about this issue. I believe that while that bill was not perfect, it was a reasonable compromise.

Unfortunately, the comprehensive immigration reform bill has stalled in the Senate. Therefore, I believe the next step must be to pass the individual priorities contained within the larger bill, starting with the "Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits and Security Act of "2007"

So there it is, the Senate is going to try and slip a fast on by us by passing the failed immigration bill by bits and pieces.

Diane Feinstein just got one stubborn fellow angry, and this fellow is going to do everything he can to make sure she doesn't get re-elected.

Farmers will have to start relying on machinery. This should have been done a long time ago---but the trend was killed by a lawsuit brought against the UC at Davis by (guess who) a farmworkers rights group. Other countries have moved ahead with mechanization and America will become less and less competitive unless it changes. This is the real story that both farmers and the US Congress need to hear.

Since Pres. Carters Ag Secty Bob Bergland announced that there would be no more investment by the US in automation of agriculture farmworker groups and their progeny have been gaining an ever greater toehold.

Not a single illegal alien has entered the country since 2004 if you believe them. The 10-12 million figure hasn't changed since that last estimate. I guess they take us for fools.

This is the way all totalitarians operate; if you can't achieve your goals at once, feed the people your poison in small doses, until you gradually erode their liberty in a process akin to being nibbled to death by ducks. Let's be sure to let them know that we aren't having any of it; no amnesty, and no compromise! Period! Eventually we'll teach them the meaning of the word NO!

Yes, we can't let up -- especially once Congress is back in session. I try to spend about 30 minutes or so in the mornings before work to make phone calls to Congress against AgJobs, Dream Act, Specter's amnesty scheme etc.

I think the key is to pace ourselves and apply consistent pressure to our elected reps, while still living our busy lives and dealing with our family obligations -- and be ready to ramp it up if needed (like during the amnesty debate). If we ALL do this we can make a difference. We're up against powerful forces, but I sincerely believe most Americans support our positions.

Yes, because she and other corrupt politicians what it this way! Not only for cheap labor for their contributors, not only for cheap future votes and political power, not only for Globalization, but also in Feinsteins case she has illegals working for her at the fancy San Franciso hotel she owns!!

The problem is both political parties are corrupted, so it will be hard to get a pro-American candidate in office.
