Is In-State Tuition for Illegals Still a Possibility?
Is in-state tuition for illegals still a possibility this year in NC? Haven't seen any posts about it if so.

Had Enuf,
We discovered they are already putting them in our Community Colleges at the in-state rate, but the press wont tell everyone.

A friend called Wake Tech & Alamance CC and was told they admitted them but had to pay out-of-state rate. I know president of CCCC was pushing the bill but from his response to my deleted email I assumed they were charging out-of-state rates as well.

We found where they had slipped in a General Statute that allows illegals the in-state tuition rate.
Senator Neil Hunt (R-Wake) offered an amendment to the budget bill making it clear you had to be legally present for the taxpyer subsidized rate.
The Dems huddled on the Senate floor, came back and voted for his amend.
Then behind closed doors, the Democrat conferees that are supposed to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the budget pulled out Senator Hunt''s amend thus clearing the way.
All print media has been notified. All print media has failed to alert the public with the exception of the Durham paper.
The Democrats in Raleigh will pay dearly at the ballot box in 2006 for what they have and have not done about illegal immigration in this state.
