Ted Cruz on being Obamaphobic: ‘Guilty as charged’

In reply to a fellow-Hispanic Senator’s accusation that Ted Cruz, R-Texas, suffers from Obamaphobia, a Cruz spokeswoman replied, fine then, we’re Obamaphobes.

It all started when Cruz remarked Monday to ABC’s Jeff Zeleny that President Barack Obama is the single “biggest obstacle to passing common sense immigration reform” due to his insistence on a “path to citizenship.”

When Sen Bob Menendez, D-NJ, appeared on MSNBC Tuesday and this was brought up, rather than debating the issue he offered a diagnosis.

“Well, I think he has Obamaphobia,” Menendez said of Cruz before offering a weak argument.

Later that day, Sen. Cruz’a office was contacted by Breitbart News for comment. An email wasn’t long in coming.

“If Obamaphobia means fear of government tyranny and the willingness to stand against it,” began Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier. “I wouldn’t say that’s inaccurate.”

Cruz backed his spokeswoman up by tweeting, “If supporting real immigration reform, not path to citizenship is “Obamaphobia.” guilty as charged. RT if you’re a fellow “Obamaphobic.”
