Ten Worst Border-Security Congressmen
10. Sen. Mike DeWine (R.-Ohio)
Judiciary Committee member, voted for amnesty for agricultural workers and for spouses and children of illegals. Co-sponsored in-state tuition bill for illegals. Opposed increasing funding for Border Patrol and adding more ICE agents.
9. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D.-Vt.)
Ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Worked with Sen. Specter on his amnesty-granting immigration bill and called building a fence along the United States border a “cockamamie” idea.
8. Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D.-Ill.)
Co-sponsor of the House version of McCain-Kennedy. Roll Call reported that after a live debate on CNBC with immigration hawk Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) Guirerrez asked, “Have you ever eaten in a restaurant?” mocked Tancredo by saying, “How could you eat from the plates touched by those nasty illegal immigrants?” and called Tancredo a “racist” and “bigot.”
7. Rep. Howard Berman (D.-Calif.)
Accused Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R.-Wis.) of “playing to the cheap seats” with his bill to construct a border fence. Co-ponsored legislation to increase amnesties for spouses and children of illegals.
6. Rep. John Conyers (D.-Mich.)
Co-sponsored legislation to grant amnesty to illegal aliens with a family member or employer willing to sponsor them. Will assume Judiciary chairmanship if Democrats win control of the House in November.
5. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.)
Consistently opposes any restrictions on immigration. Calls measures to criminalize illegal immigrants and those who assist them “draconian and inhumane.” Co-sponsored the SOLVE Act with Rep. Gutierrez to create a temporary guest-worker program.
4. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.)
Once said she was “adamantly against illegal immigrants,” now supports legalizing the 11 million illegals living in the U.S. Has vowed to block any bill criminalizing illegal immigration, suggested the House immigration bill would have made Jesus a criminal.
3. Sen. Arlen Specter (R.-Pa.)
Judiciary Chairman, introduced a bill to convert illegal aliens into legal guest-workers for six years without first making them return to their home country and to allow more temporary workers and their families into the United States.
2. Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.)
Cosponsoring legislation with McCain to grant amnesty to illegal aliens and has repeatedly supported amnesty efforts. Favors giving illegal students amnesty and a free college education.
1. Sen. John McCain (R.-Ariz.)
Lead sponsor with Teddy Kennedy of a bill to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Joined Hillary Clinton, Kennedy and Charles Schumer expressing gratitude to a group of illegal Irish aliens for their actions to lobby Congress for amnesty.

With all due respect, The President not congress is responsible for securing the border. Congress (The legislative branch) can NOT secure the border. The President and only the president can seal it immediately with an executive order. Treasonous President Bush supports the invasion of the U.S. by illegal aliens and should be impeached. That is what the House should be doing, introducing articles of impeachment.

That is why we need to impeach George Bush. He's a crook, a liar, a crack head, a drunk..... and those are his more positive attributes.
He has not upheld his oath of office. He is destroying the US from many different fronts. His approval rating is in the 30 percentile range so now is the time to go after him.
IMPEACH !!

Excuse me dxd...but I think that the congress can override the pres when he is derelict in his duty...especially his oath to protect and defend the citizens....they can force him to enforce the law or they can remove him. Removing him is going to be most difficult as the Republican congress sees his ineptitude as a reflection on themselves. Their inaction is what reflects on themselves...Bush is just one man...and he's lost it as far as his credibility goes. The sooner the party gets rid of him the better off they will be...but they don't see that yet. So much for party politics.
When it comes to voting time it's every man for himself, or woman of course...but they haven't figured that out yet...

OJJPAC's been distributing Sen. DeWine's immigration voting record to voters in Ohio.
He could lose election next November, however, his opponent might even have a worse record.

MustangJo,
RE:Excuse me dxd...but I think that the congress can override the pres
when he is derelict in his duty..
Override the prez?? Are you saying that congress can issue an "EXECUTIVE ORDER"????? Are you saying that congress can command the military or federal law enforcement personnel??????
No way.
RE....they can force him to enforce the law
How can they do that???? Remember the separation of powers? Saying that congress can force the executive to do something is like saying congress can force a judge to rule a certain way. Separation pf powers prevents this
RE: thhay can remove him
YES they can. The House can impeach him and the senate can remove him from office.

I am not sure of this but if the congress thinks they were right and the president wrong, they can vote again. But this time, it’s not majority (over 50%) rules.) But for congress to override the president they need to have over 2/3 of the congress vote that they are right and the president wrong.

Yes, and the Congress is the one with WAR powers, not the president.
And yes, they can override him, and his veto. Currently he's holding the border hostage to his guest worker program. Nonsense. They can override his veto. That's the checks and balances portion...that's what keeps us from having a dictatorship instead of a president.
Now this congress and this president are both behaving as if he WERE a dictator who could do THEM extreme damage by overriding him...he's a lameduck who has lost all credibility. They have nothing to fear from him...therefore they are all complicit in the illegal takeover of our country.
