From The Leaf Chronicle:

A jury will hear the homicide case of two men charged with robbing and killing a Fort Campbell soldier who was giving them a ride home.

Giovanne Treymane Johnson, 19, and Rakeem Rashan Jones, 18, are both charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the shooting death of Spc. Taylor Hotzoglou.

Hotzoglou, 22, was shot multiple times on April 28 after giving the two teenagers a ride. Hotzoglou was found by a passerby dead in his car on the shoulder of Victory.

Witnesses at a preliminary hearing said Jones and Johnson robbed Hotzoglou during the ride. Jones was named as the alleged gunman.

The trial will begin on Monday, Sept. 16, at 8:30 a.m. in Judge John H. Gasaway’s court, and the two men will have a joint trial.
