IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT BILL INTRODUCED IN OHIO!

Thought you might like to know that an immigration enforcement bill has been introduced into the Ohio House of Representatives today. The bill is H.B. 654.

I've posted a link on the OJJPAC homepage for anyone who wants to read it.

Thanks to all the Ohioans who demanded that Ohio's Legislature take some action on the issue of illegal immigration in Ohio.

    Steve,
This is great news! I went to your sight and qickly read the house bill. I will take the time to read it in detail post haste! I have written so many letters to my representitives as well as representitives in other districts of Ohio. Until now I did not know OJJPAC exsisted. If you need any help with anything please let me know. I will be writting letters to encourge the passage of this bill as soon as I read it in detail! Is there anything in it that you are aware of that is questionable?

Yes it is good news that a bill was introduced (the issue of illegal immigration has been raised).

I don't know if it is a good bill or not yet. As far as I know they didn't draft the bill with the assistance of people who know what other problems other states have encountered in drafting legislation. That concerns me.

We don't want a bill for just show and tell. We want something with teeth and will hold up in the courts. That's what voters and taxpaxers in Ohio deserve.

Ideally, the Dems will introduce a bill and compete with the Republicans...will it happen...probably not from initial indications.

BMW, glad to have you in Central Ohio. I lived in the Columbus area for over 10 years.

Send me an email with your contact info and we can talk.

    Steve:

Hey, that's cool. It'll be interesting to see how yours compares to the other recent bills from Colorado, Georgia, etc - at the state-level. If/when you get your hands on the contents, could you drop a link to it up here or even cut/paste some content? (One of my next missions is to start working on my state-level senators/representatives and start asking these people why it is not even being talked about seriously here where I live - I want as many examples of current bills to show as proof of others efforts)

    Thanks / Congratulations,
