In the final part of his interview with The Daily Caller, National Immigration and Customs Enforcement union President Chris Crane criticized the Obama administration for its duplicity when dealing with border agents.

He recounted how, when his organization came to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness for the safety and welfare of border agents and customs officers — and, in particular, officer suicide rates and assaults on officers — the Obama administration asked to meet with them rather than have the union members picket, but after the protests had been cancelled and the meeting had taken place, his group was “cut off”

“The second we walked out of that room we were cut off,” Crane told TheDC. “They won’t respond to us, they won’t help us. They wont do anything. Their one and only goal was to shut down that picket and those press conferences to keep that information from getting out to the American public prior to the election.”

Crane argues that the meeting was taken by Cecilia Muñoz and that prior to her working as director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, she was a senior vice president for the office of research, advocacy and legislation at the National Council of La Raza — a pro-Hispanic immigration group. Her background, Crane says, influenced her behavior when it came to handling issues relating to the health and welfare of Border Patrol agents.
