Trade corridors: Road to ruin or a fast lane to prosperity?
Oklahoma should withdraw its membership from an international trade route association and stay away from leasing any state road to companies, especially foreign ones, a citizens group said Friday.
George Wallace, president of Oklahomans for Sovereignty and Free Enterprise, said members of his group oppose the state's membership in the North American SuperCorridor Coalition.
The supercorridor coalition wants to use existing interstate highways along with other modes of transportation, such as rail and air service, to improve the flow of goods between the United States, Mexico and Canada.
What are the concerns?
Wallace said he is concerned a supercorridor would help Chinese goods move faster from Mexico to Canada while passing through Oklahoma. He's also concerned that tractor-trailers using the corridor would be driving through Oklahoma with unchecked loads.

What's the rush to get more Chinese products into our Country? Especially when China uses our dollars to beef up their armies!
It's as though our government wants China to take over the world and us!Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!

Technically, on a financial level China OWNS the US. They hold the majority of our debt. They are financing the Iraq invasion and a lot of other publicly unknown debts of destruction.
As for the global aspect, it's all coming home to roost now. Globalization has linked the world economies. Our housing market and the subprime lending debacle is merely the beginning of the fall of a house of cards. Barring a miracle, financially we are on the verge of collapse. It's Time to Rescind the 14th Amendment

A lot of that debt will turn out to be uncollectable, but that won't save us from financial ruin. And you know, our fatcats will retire to Switzerland or other gated communities somewhere, and leave us to deal with the mess.

Why isnt some US based manufacturing businesses jumping on this
golden opportunity to bring back "made in the USA"??? With all the
garbage peddled into our country and harming everything and everyone
from the family dog to toothpaste, USA products should be welcomed
and embraced even if they cost a tad more than the Chinese crap.
Some people at the top are not paying attention. A golden opportunity
awaits if greedy CEOs can stop drooling over their bank statements
long enough to wake up and smell the coffee!
Returning manufacturing and jobs to Americans will benefit all greatly.
I would like to spend less time searching for USA lables and be able
to support the country I favor with my consumer $$!PROMOTE SELF DEPORTATION, ENFORCE OUR

Oops! Sorry, posted to the wrong thread....oh well, its all one ball of wax
anyway. Most of our problems can be traced to globalism and illegal
immigration. All of which will be compounded with NAFTA, CAFTA and
the Trans Texas Corridor.PROMOTE SELF DEPORTATION, ENFORCE OUR
LAWS!

You would think that the price of oil alone would have changed the economics of importing vast quantities of stuff from China.
