Friday night just after 8 p.m. Precinct 4 Deputy Cooke was on patrol on US 59 near New Caney when he observed a Cadillac Escalade SUV following extremely close to an 18-wheeler. He stopped the vehicle at the FM 1485 exit ramp. The vehicle was occupied by several Hispanic males. The driver was identified as Jose Vazquez, 17 of Little Rock, Arkansas. He advised Deputy Cooke that he had come to pickup some guys in Houston for a soccer game in Arkansas on Saturday.

When Deputy Cooke ran his drivers license which was from Mexico he was advised by dispatchers that it was missing a digit. After talking with the driver further Vazquez admitted that the license was fake.

He was placed under arrest at that point and then admitted that he was being paid to drive from Little Rock to the Kroger store on Aldine Mail Route and US 59 in Harris County and pick five illegals. He was then to return to Little Rock where they would be picked up by drivers from other parts of the country.

Vazquez also told deputies that he and his 15-year-old front seat passenger were employed by a Chinese restaurant in Little Rock and had taken the day off to make the extra money. He also told officers that his parents or his friends parents knew they had gone.

Deputy Cooke called for additional assistance from Deputy Brown, Turentine and Looza.who transported the illegals to the Precinct 4 office.

ICE was contacted and responded to the New Caney Office taking custody of the illegals and the 15 year-old who also was determined to be illegal.

Vazquez is charged with Forgery of a Government Document and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
