Trump admin reportedly will allow 872 refugees into US despite travel ban

NOW PLAYINGGorka: The president was elected to protect this nation
The Trump administration reportedly will allow 872 refugees into the U.S. despite an executive order signed Friday temporarily suspending the entry of refugees from predominantly Muslim nations into the country, according to a Homeland Security document.
A Homeland Security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters on Monday that the particular refugees had already been considered “in transit” and were cleared for resettlement before the ban took place. It’s unclear if additional waivers will be granted.
The hundreds refugees set to be placed in the U.S. this week were screened under the Obama administration. The process usually takes about two years and includes several rounds of questioning and a background check.
According to Reuters, the waivers were granted by Homeland Security and the State Department. It comes after a wave of protests over the weekend against Trump’s executive order. More than 100 travelers from the countries included in the travel ban, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen, were detained, deported or blocked from boarding flights to the U.S.
The document reportedly stated that between Friday and Monday, about 348 visa holders were prevented from boarding flights to the U.S. More than 200 people who landed in the U.S. were denied entry. Over the same time period, more than 700 were questioned by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in airports – including 394 legal U.S. residents.
Monday night, Trump relieved acting Attorney General Sally Yates of her duties after she directed the Justice Department attorneys not to defend Trump's controversial executive refugee and immigration ban.
Yates, a holdover from the Obama Administration, was replaced by Dana Boente, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Boente, 62, was sworn in Monday evening. He will lead the Justice Department pending the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions, Trump's nominee for attorney general, by the Senate.

That's good. I have no problem with that if they've been vetted properly and expectations, promises and documents already issued. Double-check and if everything looks good, then let them in as they have apparently decided to do. But no more.

We want Deportation flights...not Importation flights.
For those who sold their belongings...they got the money for it. Give them $1,000 dollars to purchase what they need and do not bring them here.
We need to load up planes FULL and start fast tracking DEPORTATION flights of illegals and Visa overstays. NOT bring in more refugees, asylum, illegals, OR Student Visa's.
The students do not leave, neither do the rest of them.
We want to see those people on their way OUT before any more are brought in!!!ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
DO NOT REWARD THEM - DEPORT THEM ALL

The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday it will allow 872 refugees to enter the country after they were initially barred from flying to the U.S. under President Trump’s executive order on immigration.
Homeland Security began detaining immigrants arriving at U.S. airports immediately after Trump signed his order Friday evening. The order temporarily suspended the U.S. refugee program and barred entry to most people coming from seven majority Muslim countries – Libya, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen.
By Saturday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it was detaining 109 people affected by the ban. DHS officials say all those people were cleared — either allowed to enter the country or returned to their home countries — by Sunday night. But civil rights groups and immigration advocates say people remained in custody at U.S. airports through Monday.
On Tuesday, Kevin McAleenan, acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), said more than 500,000 foreigners flew into the country in the 72 hours following Trump’s order. He said CBP agents granted waivers to 1,060 green card holders from the countries affected by Trump’s order, allowing them to enter the country after additional screening.
McAleenan said 75 waivers were granted to other visa holders, including people who had special visas intended for translators who have worked with the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan. But he said 721 travelers were stopped from boarding planes in foreign countries headed for the U.S.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said they will continue implementing Trump’s order, but stressed that they are abiding by emergency rulings issued by federal judges over the weekend.
“We are all will continue to be in compliance with judicial orders,” Kelly said.
He added that the executive order "is not a ban on Muslims."

How much of a background check do these people get?
When they come as tourist and never leave they become illegal aliens. (Visa overstays.)Last edited by JohnDoe2; 01-31-2017 at 03:20 PM.

We need an Executive Order giving Visa Overstays a 60-day grace period to Self Deport. Make your arrangements, give notice, sell out pack up and get out.
If ANY Visa overstays are apprehended after the 60-day grace period...they will have a lifetime ban from ever returning to the United States. And this should be the rule this day forward...you do not go back...no renewal, no entry ever again.
We need to fast track deport them out of here!ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE "BROKEN" OUR IMMIGRATION SYSTEM
