Do illegals WANT amnesty?
Okay, forgive me if this sounds really ridiculous but sometimes I wonder. DO they really WANT citizenship when it seems that they get a lot more freebies w/o it. I doubt they all of a sudden want to start paying taxes, being held responsible for healthcare costs, no more welfare, etc. like the rest of us. BoA has given them car loans, credit cards and mortgages. What's to hold them to it? If they can just go back to Mexico and default on the payments. I think they are content to live here illegally because our government and financial institutions has made it pretty nice for them. Am I wrong in thinking this way?

To be honest
I don't think the great majority of them understand what
citizenship in this country really means
The enablers are pushing them because they want the votes
They want the control
Most illegals could care less about America
If they did , millions of them would not have marched
with mexican flags

I think that most of the illegals want amnesty but not citizenship. In other words, they want to continue doing what they are already doing without worrying about any possible consequences. Right now they are getting many of the benefits of being a citizen without actually being citizens, so why would they all of sudden want to be held accountable like the rest of us?

Do Illegals want amnesty
Yes, they want amnesty, not necessarily citizenship. Apparently they are fiercely loyal to Mexico and their only need to vote in America is to benefit Mexico, or whichever foriegn country they come from.....
McCains amnesty plan would wipe out all charges for using false documents, guarantee Social Security for wages earned while illegally working in the US, and allow criminals and those with previous deportation orders to apply for legalization. Of course, any verification of eligibliity would be based on forged documents, just like the previous 1986 amnesty. Some have said the 9/11 terrorists would get amnesty under McCain's insane plan.
And just like 1986, all Americans will get is more illegal aliens flooding into our country and NO ENFORCEMENT of immigration laws.
But I believe you are right. Even with amnesty or a path to legalization, America will still be stuck with the worst of them. The ones with serious criminal history and those who prefer to live in the shadows rather than comply with our laws.

Uh.... instead of theorizing, why not ask them directly?
I'd be interested in seeing what their answers are.

The Democrats are talking about them paying a fine, etc....path to citizenship. I would just be surprised in any of them are interested in paying a fine. Why bother?
Then the Dems don't address what they would do with them if they opt not to pay the fine. What then? Mass deportation? That should be a follow up question at the next Democratic debate.

'Of course they all want to be citizens so they don't have to be afraid of ICE'
Sharona, you could be right but I don't see any of them living in fear of ICE. I know they are barely starting to crack down but I'm not seeing any major ICE raids....just an occasional story here and there.

Okay, I guess I misunderstood. I thought the two were linked. Meaning giving them amnesty would be citizenship.
