PRESS CONFERENCE REF HOUSE BILL 1804 - THURSDAY, Dec 6th, at 1:30 PM !!!!!

This email from Rev. Victor Orta, plaintiff in the federal lawsuit against House Bill 1804, was forwarded to me by others in the Tulsa news media. He announced that the National Coalition of Latino Clergy is holding a press conference Thursday, Dec 6th, at 1:30pm at Tulsa City Plaza, 500 So. Denver in Tulsa, OK.

The 'word' is that the plaintiffs might announce that they are dropping their federal lawsuit against House Bill 1804. Why? For starters, they probably know the lawsuit is a LOSER. Secondly, they DO NOT WANT ANY WRITTEN DISMISSAL ORDER COMING DOWN FROM FEDERAL JUDGE JAMES PAYNE, PRIOR TO THEIR DISMISSING THE SUIT, THAT COULD BE USED AS PRECEDENT IN ANY FUTURE LAWSUITS AGAINST HB 1804. Third, while it is only rumor, there is SIGNIFICANT rumor that another group, possibly one of the Chambers of Commerce, might be planning a lawsuit against HB 1804. Thus, by dismissing this lawsuit PRIOR to Judge Payne issuing any negative ruling, they may feel they can prevent any possible damage to other lawsuits coming down the pike.

No matter what happens, we need supporters of House Bill 1804 to appear at this press conference so these folks know we support our legislators and the Rule of Law
