Virginiamama, the house passed the bill to construct the 700 mile fence. I don't know where you got your figures from - most republicans voted for the bill. Unfortunately, the bill will probably never pass the senate.

Watched most of it also. Did you listen to the callers? Most were from California and even one Dem said how unhappy he is with his party and would vote in the future for those strong on illegal immigration. I just called Price's office and gave him he$$, and demanded an explanation for him voting against this. I was told that someone would be calling me back!

Gawd, I cannot believe my PoS Brad Miller (NC 13th) voted with the
yeas. Maybe he is getting some heat. Vernon Robinson coulda had
fun with a Ney from ol' Brad. I guess Acuff over in the 4th is gonna
get some mileage on it outta Price.
Maybe it's an important symbolic thing, but I think a weekend out
at the county jail or community service for scumbag employers would
be more effective & very satisfying. If they sent Martha Stuart to
jail for several months, I think a few years would be appropriate for
our illegal employers.
