I do not know who this guy is....

I like this guys attitude! This is RIGHT ONE!

    Sheriff Joe Arpaio re elected!!!

Needless to say he was re elected again this year. Sheriff Joe Arpaio (in Arizona) who created the tent city jail has meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails.

Took away their weights. Cut off all but "G" movies.

He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.

Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails.

So he hooked up the cable TV again only let in the Disney channel and the weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel he replied, so they will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.

He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value. When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back."

He bought Newt Gingrich's lecture series on videotape that he pipes into the jails.

When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.

    More on the Arizona Sheriff:

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record), the Associated Press reports: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts. On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees inside the week before. Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on their chests and dripped down to their pink socks. "It feels like we are in a furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate who has lived in the tents for 1 1/2 years. "It's inhumane."

Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic.

He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates:

It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"

Way to go, Sheriff! Maybe if all prisons were like this one, there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders.

Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.

If you agree, pass this on.

This guy is so awesome!!! I have been keeping taps on this guy. We need to implement this in areas of the fruits and vegatables fields where the Illegals work. What do you all think? They say that Americans wont do the jobs that Mexicans will, then why not have the Prisoners do it?

Prometheus....I agree this Sheriff is awesome, but the myth "Jobs Americans Won't Do" is just that, a myth, a big lie. Americans have always been willing to perform every job asked of them, many much more difficult than picking fruit and vegetables.

My Dad picked fruit in California to get his start...saved money and bought a new car. He travelled out there all the way from Missouri when he graduated from high school.

My Cousin picked lettuce in California to save money for college....and graduated from University of Kansas Manhattan electrical engineering school. Without the lettuce money he would earn during the summers, he would not have been able to afford to go to college.

One of my employees told me that when his father was alive, the whole family went on the circuit and would pick everywhere and earned alot of money. These are white Americans from southern Virginia. He said it was hard work, but it was fun.

Young people and families are being denied these opportunities they once had and it has drained the future of Americans.

Americans need the jobs; deserve these jobs; are entitled to these jobs; will perform these jobs; have always been willing and able and ready to do this work.

The "Jobs Americans Won't Do" is a LIE.

I just had to make one more comment about the "federal court" and the cable TV.

So....now our federal courts are involved with television service in a COUNTY JAIL?

Why? So they can get HBO and all the "dirty sex" stations? OR, were the federal courts operating on the belief that prisoners in an Arizona County Jail have the inalienable right to watch Lou Dobbs and Fox News?

I would encourage the Sheriff to switch off Disney (they might actually enjoy that) and limit their cable viewing to Lou Dobbs and Bill O'Reilly.

Our Federal Courts have lost their minds, assuming they had some to begin with.

This "man" FAVORS illegal immigration into the United States while pretending to enforce the law with rigor; he's criticized the "Minuteman Project" and promotes illegal immigration into the United States.

The admiration of Joe Arpaio expressed here is a symptom of the problem with the American public and especially those here who should be more cautious; certainly, if this man is so impassive and hawkish in his enforcement of punishment against prisoners, then he must be impassive and hawkish in enforcement of the law against illegal immigrants. Or so it's thought by those who are careless.

This is exactly why the Republican constituency often disbelieves that a president of the Republican Party is PROMOTING illegal immigration into the United States. "Why, he must be ignorant of the damage that his policy is causing the United States," they think.

Why so? It's so because the Republican Party portrays itself as a political party that protects the interests of the American public and the United States generally. It's not. The Republican Party pursues its own interest at the expense of the American public and the United States.

The trouble here is exactly the same. Republican propagandists rail against or embrace political issues that they're sure will please the Republican constituency. And we all know what the Republican Party has become (I hope). Joe Arpaio portrays himself as hero who inflexibly executes the law. He's not. He's just more rabble.

Crackbone!! Welcome to ALIPAC and thanks so much for your post. I have not heard one way or another about this Sheriff's position on illegal immigration and am glad to learn from you that you believe he is FOR it and thus not an ally in our efforts to stop it.

The Hallelujahs he was receiving from many of us had nothing to do with his position on illegal immigration but his detention plan for lawbreakers.

Presently, the US Government is spending billions on the chase, arrest and detention of illegals, only to then release them into society awaiting "Hearings" during which time they disperse into society and some high figure like 90% never show up for their "hearing". The explanation given for this "release" awaiting the "hearing" is the cost of detention.

Someone found this article about the Sheriff in Arizona using pup tents, etc. to house prisoners and this seemed a satisfactory temporary housing method for illegal aliens awaiting their "hearing".

Thanks again for pointing out that while we may agree with his use of "pup tents", we most certainly do not agree with his position on illegal immigration if he is for it.

Again, Welcome to ALIPAC and keep the information coming!!

    SEARCHING OR SOLUTIONS

I don't know what his position is on I.I. either. But I am interested in learning if such basic housing could also be a solution for the detention of I.I.'s.

Does anyone know if the sheriffs "accomodations" has passed muster in the courts? It seems like his techniques would have resulted in a lawsuit or two by unhappy inmates and the ACLU.

If it passes court muster I wouldn't oppose it as a temporary holding area for illegals, so they can be held until their court dates, and deported (if appropriate) ASAP.

Unless the law has some teeth...its useless.

Steve--several years ago, this Sheriff was on 60 Minutes. I"ve known about his pup tents in the desert for well over 8 years. He's been at it for a considerable period of time. And yes, it's been to court and he prevailed. They did make him provide them with "cable TV". So, he rigged it so they get "Disney" and the Weather Channel. When asked about the Weather Channel....he said he thought it was important for them to know "the temperature".

With regards to ACLU....they only represent pedophiles and foreign nationals these days. American Citizens in Pup Tents....isn't their "bag" if you get my drift....a recent discovery on my part about the ACLU, but a sad, true and irrefutable FACT. ACLU is headed by a gay guy. They get their funding almost entirely from members, which soared when the gay guy was made head of ACLU, and the Globalists whose list of concerns of course excludes all American Interests.

I would be the FIRST to slam this guy, if he turns out to be supporter of illegal immigration!

In the mean time, I have to laugh:

It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"
