Carefully crafted propaganda, but propaganda none the less...curious...what happens if we start TARGETING some of the small businesses in our local areas who are MEMBERS of the Chamber of Commerce?

When we were in AZ, it was the C of C that opposed a referendum on illegal immigration - something to do with their not getting free services.

But it was the C of C and believe it or not, some firemen, who opposed it.

One of the most assinine statements, I have ever heard was a firemen saying, "I don't want to have to ask if a person is legal before I save him."

Why does no one ever tell these people just how really, really lacking in intelligence they are.

I've been doing exactly that, for awhile now. Most stores that are members of the Chamber will display a plaque that states they're a member, somewhere in the their business. Just say, I see you're a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, I'm boycotting all businesses that are members. They'll either look at you dumbfounded or they'll ask why? That's your chance to inform them of what the Chamber stands for.

What is so unreal is right below the ads for amnesty, are ads against counterfitting!! For years the US Chamber has supported all the fradulent documents illegal aliens need to get jobs!!

Then they talk about our "broken immigration system". It is not broken, it is corrupted, by them!

For any business you see who is a member of the US Chamber, hand them the following. Then ask if their customer base is middle class Americans. If it is, mention that the bill the US Chamber supports will reduce the income of middle class Americans by 8%, thus resulting in their business income being reduced about 8%:

    NO 5 TRILLION $$$$$$$$$$$$ AMNESTY!!!

$5 Trillion is what the bill (S1033) that the US Chamber of Commerce and John McCain are promoting, which would legalize illegal aliens plus greatly increase foreign immigration, would cost Americans over the next 15 to 20 years.

This bill will have many negative effects on Americans, the two largest being continued wage reductions and increased government spending. The combination of these two items compared to immigration law enforcement alone will cost Americans $510 billion a year once the full effects kick in. That is about 8% of American’s wage income!

The US Chamber of Commerce supports this bill for only one reason, to increase profits by reducing labor costs. They claim the economy needs these workers, it will “increase wealth”. What they really mean is increased wealth for business owners by decreasing the wealth of American workers as we will show.

    1. Labor pool and wages

The US Chamber also claims they do not want cheap labor. If that were the case, they would not object to a minimum wage of $10 an hour. They would not object to large companies like Wal Mart being forced to provide health insurance for their workers. But the US Chamber does object to these measures, because no matter what they say, the fact of the matter is they DO want cheap labor.

Real wages for Americans have decreased this Century.1 Since the McCain bill would allow in at least 600,000 additional foreign workers every year, wages will decline even more. Harvard economist Jorge Borjas estimates that each 10% increase in immigrant workers reduces native wages by about 4.5%.2 Immigrants currently depress American’s wages by an estimated $200 billion annually. More than doubling immigration as the McCain bill does would over time raise this estimated wage depression to about $500 billion annually. On the other hand, if the immigration laws were enforced and illegal aliens left the US, the wage depression caused by immigration would decrease to about $100 billion. Thus the McCain bill instead of enforcement alone would result in wages being depressed by about $400 billion annually.

Another fabrication by the US Chamber is their fear of “the long-term threat of a shrinking labor pool”. As can be seen from US Census data at current immigration levels the working age population age 20 to 64 will increase by 58 million over the next 50 years, or by 35%.3 This population projection does assume illegal aliens will continue entering the US at their current rate. But even if illegal immigration was stopped, and all illegal aliens currently in the US left, the working age population would still increase by 30 million over the next 50 years, or by 18%.

Many business people will say low wage foreign workers “are essential to our economy”. This is exactly the same sentiment as plantation owners 150 years ago who said “without slaves, who will pick the cotton?”

    2. Government Spending

Illegal households created a net fiscal deficit at the federal level of more than $10 billion in 2002. Also, if there were an amnesty for illegal aliens, the net fiscal deficit would grow to nearly $29 billion.4 Note that this is only for amnesty of illegal aliens, the McCain bill in additionally also increases the number of low income, low education, high birthrate legal immigrants by 1/2 million a year. These legal immigrants will impact federal spending the same way amnestied illegal aliens would, thus the net federal fiscal deficit would be even greater, after 10 years exceeding $40 billion. Thus the McCain bill would increase federal government spending by over $30 billion.

The effect at the state and local level is similar. The 2.4 million illegal aliens in California impose a $9 billion net fiscal deficit on the State.56 The 1.4 million illegal aliens in Texas impose a fiscal deficit of $3.7 billion.7 This averages out to $3,342 per illegal alien. Multiplied times the 12 million illegal aliens in the US gives a total for all states fiscal deficit of $40 billion.8 For the same reasons as with federal spending, the McCain bill will also greatly increase State spending, by at least the $30 billion that federal spending will increase and probably much more. This increase in state spending occurred after the last mass amnesty of illegal aliens in 1986.9 One big reason State spending will increase is just like after the 1986 amnesty, aliens legalized by the McCain bill will likely have more children.10 The McCain bill however benefits 6 times as many aliens as the 1986 amnesty, plus there are additional programs in the McCain bill that will cost taxpayers more relative to the 1986 amnesty, making it about 8 times more expensive than the 1986 amnesty.

This means the McCain bill will increase government spending by at least $60 billion annually. The McCain bill instead of enforcement alone will cost Americans at least $110 billion annually. They will pay for this with a combination of higher taxes and deficit spending which will increase inflation.

    3. Combined Effects

The combination of lower wages and higher government spending created by the McCain bill will cost Americans an estimated $510 billion a year. Since working Americans total income is $6.5 trillion a year,11 the McCain bill compared to enforcement alone will cost Americans 8% of their annual income!

You know after looking at the US Chambers phony "poll", we should have one that asks Americans:

A recent poll suggested that many Americans would support letting illegal aliens earn US citizenship if they learn English, have a job, and pay back taxes. Do you support this plan knowing that:

    1. American taxpayers would be the ones paying for their English classes?

    2. The learn English requirement is only about 200 words?

    3. The millions of jobs illegal aliens currently have in the US depresses the wages of American workers by up to 10%?

    4. "Pay back taxes" actually means we will be paying them, since legalizing illegal aliens would make them eligable to collect the earned income credit of up to $4400 a year. Also they would be able to claim any social security money they contributed using a false social security number.

    5. Once they are legalized, the fiscal deficit created by illegal aliens will increase from $50 billion to over $110 billion?

I wonder how much polls cost?
