Camp out in McGonigle Canyon, San Diego 11-18-2006

Have you guys been hearing Rick Roberts on KFMB Radio? He is promoting a camp out to protest the fact that nothing is being done about the illegal aliens camping out in McGonigle Canyon.

Here is a couple of links to more information on the SOS message boards.

It could turn into a good rally. A two day-er.

    Migrant Camp Cleanup
    Published: 11/13/2006 10:23:23 PM

McGonigle Canyon has been home to illegal immigrants for more than 20 years, but local Minutemen and area residents are trying to clean it up.

Several televison reports and radio interviews, prompted dozens of minutemen from Southern California to clean up the large expanse of land, just a few miles south of 56 freeway near Poway.

Immigration advocates and San Diego Police closely monitored the volunteers as they cleaned the canyon. The volunteers found items such as beer bottles, rotting food, clothing, magazine, condoms and women’s garments.

Immigrant supporters say that the clean up is just a way to harass people, who are too poor to afford better housing, and are just trying to stay out of the way.

Local area residents are working with Council President Scott Peters to create legitimate long-term solutions to the immigrants living in the canyon.

The city of San Diego applied for a $3 million state grant to develop affordable housing near McGonigle Canyon, in the summer of 2005, but land use problems have prevented ground-breaking on the proposed projects.

Here's an update on the McConigle valley camp-out:

    http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/nort ... 7camp.html

A BIG turnout is expected, but of course the ACLU is already there, along with Claudia Smith and her "bunch." She's well known in Cali and you're probably all familiar with her too.

Here's another link to info and videos about the camp-out:

Immigrationwatchdog has several videos of the site and has been on this case for awhile! We love them!!!

And the link to Rick Robert's show which you can podcast or download to listen to as well as listen live (he should go national!):

This was posted on the Illegal Immigrant Protest forums.

    =fkhouck link=topic=2925.msg18431#msg18431 date=1163810799]

I just got off the phone with a SDPD Captain and he told me that effective tomorrow, DR Horton and Pardee are enforcing their posted No Trespassing, meaning that the migrants will no longer be allowed on their property, period!!

Trespassers will be warned and then arrested!!! We have forced their hand and made them take action!

Rancho Penasquitos and San Diego residents have finally been heard! These camps are closing for good according to the land owners!!

We will still go out there tomorrow to the cul de sac at the end of Torrey Sante Fe Rd to make sure the illegals are being evicted and kept off the property and to have our little barbeque celebration. Bring your hiking boots anyway as there are parts of the canyon that we will be able to enter. See everyone there! Great victory!

Most importantly, we have 10 porti-johns coming so all of San Diego is invited! Bring your food, barbeques, etc.
