Looks like they want to have full access to drugs and free health care... Good combo I guess, as the use of one will definitely lead to the need of the other.

    As for the Dreamers....

Mr Steve Prekup, these undocumented youngsters DID NOT break any US law because they were too young to understand or to do anything when their elders brought them over here in America. They should not be punished for the crime of their elders/parents.

Dream Act Activists, please make sure that this bill will not have the age cap of 30 yrs. old. That won't be fair for those who were brought here when they were young but is now older than 30 yrs. old.

I'm so tired of hearing the dreamers calling themselves kids, children, youngsters, a child etc. It's like they aren't smart enough to figure out they're adults. Most of the dreamers are very arrogant and think they are smarter than everyone else and are the cream of the illegal crop so we should give them everything they want. NOT!

    Without a doubt...
Maybe we should go in with different names and cheat on the rest of them.

fedup-I voted on that idea just to say screw you change. No one will take them seriously with an idea like that. I also contacted the National Press Club and emailed them a link to the Resistance is Futile blog and told them my personal experience with change.

The National Press Club has a meeting with change on January 16 in the First Amendment Lounge It would be so funny if they canceled the meeting especially since change does not believe in the first amendment.

Resistance is Futile thread is here:

Have you seen the final results? The highest voted idea, with 19,530 votes is; Legalize the Medicinal and Recreational Use of Marijuana.

However, this is what the site did... Note the telling phrase 'in no particular order' as the Dream Act actually only came in 8th with 12,010 votes.

Winners of the Ideas for Change in America Competition

After 656,991 votes for 7,847 ideas, we present the top 10 ideas for change (in no particular order):

    * Pass the DREAM Act - Support Higher Education for All Students Dream ACTivist (add a suggestion)
    * Appoint Secretary of Peace in Department of Peace and Non-Violence Stephen Zendt (add a suggestion)
    * Free Single Payer Health Care Jared S (add a suggestion)
    * Develop & Implement a National Strategy for Sustainability Rob Wheeler (add a suggestion)
    * Pass Marriage Equality Rights for LGBT Couples Nationwide Jen N. (add a suggestion)

    * Make the grid green in 10 years Liz Rose (add a suggestion)
    * Legalize the Medicinal and Recreational Use of Marijuana Jose Torres (add a suggestion)
    * Get FISA Right, repeal the PATRIOT Act, and restore our civil liberties Jon Pincus (add a suggestion)
    * Save Small Business From the CPSIA Cecilia Leibovitz (add a suggestion)
    * Health Freedom IS Our First Freedom Bill Pleasants (add a suggestion)

    ************************************************** *********

Now here is what a blogger chose to make of these results without digging deeper. And you can bet others will say that the Dream Act came out on top as well. Wonder if that's how the press conference will go.

*****Educational reform must include the rights of undocumented students to achieve collegiate dreams

Yesterday, the web site change.org announced that they have finally culled a list of ten winning ideas (from the hundreds they received) that they will present to the Obama administration for consideration to implement.

The top of the winner's list is Pass the DREAM Act: Support Higher Education for All Students. Congratulations to all the students who worked tirelessly to get the necessary votes to bring it to the top.
