I'm talking about the www.change.org Internet page. Supposedly, the top (most voted for) ideas, will be presented to Obama when he takes office. The vote ends at midnight on December 31, 2008.



"Stop the Raids" only has 474 votes, while "Enforce Our Immigration Laws" has 1027 (as of 10:30 p.m., Chicago time on December 30).



Are the ALIPAC-Minutemen going to win this round? Are we, immigration activists, staffers, friends of immigration, less that the "anti's"?

Shame on all you who advocate ignoring our immigration laws. The illegals (and they are) don't like waiting in line like everybody else has to. They go to the head of the line. They seem to think they can make their own rules. What about the legal immigrants who apply, wait their turn, get the health certificates, etc. You think they don't count. It's obvious that 99% of the world would like to live here. It's economically impossible to say nothing of the overcrowding that would occur if we had completely open borders. When you "open border" advocates can't win anyother way, you play the race card and call us bigots. That is wrong. My daughter-in-law is from the Phillippines. The difference is that she came here legally. Wasn't easy but citizenship in the greatest country in the world shouldn't be easy. You don't cherish something that is given for free. That's the reason that a lot of native born US citizens take their freedoms for granted. We no longer need undereducated and poverty stricken illegal immigrants. We get enough to fill the vacancies by the legal immigration process. Are you saying that the poor and uneducated immigrants who waited in line for their chance don't count and it's okay for the illegals to take their jobs. Sounds like it to me. Don't talk about the numbers who show up to your demonstrations. MOST people have jobs and can't just go where they please when they please. All polling has shown that an overwhelming majority of Americans want the illegals to go home. No more amesty. Didn't work before and would only be worse this time.

I go to bed early, wake up in the middle of the night, browse, snack just a bit..then back to the sack for 3 more hours..heck if I'm lucky, I'll sleep all dang night!
