TRIAL IN TRIPLE HOMICIDE BEGINS TUESDAY IN ALTOONA PA

FYI--Illegal Mexican alien Miguell A. Padilla's trial for last year's triple homicide in Altoona, PA begins next Tuesday.

I just added the victims to OJJPAC's "Victims of Illegal Alien Memorial" and got the heads up on the status of the case from the District Attorney's office today.

If you haven't visited the memorial, feel free to take a quick look....but your blood may begin to boil when you read about all the unnecessary deaths.

I usually add one name daily, so it is a continually growing memorial. Let's hope we win this battle so one day there won't be any names to add.

This is my city! They are bringing a jury in from Cumberland County (outside of Harrisburg) because there was so much pretrial publicity.

He has a public defender who is quite good and they are going to use as their defense that he was high on drugs and alcohol because he was mourning the loss of his best friend the previous week; they are also claiming that he suffers from panic attacks. The Mexican government sent two representatives up from their consulate in Philadelphia.

This guy has a violent past and there's no doubt that he did it. He was angry because he and two other people he was with were denied entry to a club. He went to his car and came back and shot the three people in plain sight of witnesses. That's why they are arguing diminished capacity because they hope to mitigate the degree of murder against him. The prosecution wants 1st degree and will seek the death penalty. I used to work in the DA's office and know this DA. He is quite thorough and very tough.

We have a very lengthy and continuing news thread going on Padilla. Has all kinds of articles from the beginning to current. I help keep it updated with the latest news as it breaks. Check it out if you're familiar or not familiar with the case.
