No judiciary committee vote yet, Let's try to delay it
First off amnesty is NOT dead at this point. So let stay on our toes, STOP the wishful thinking and not let our guard down. Bush wants amnesty so do NOT expect him to change his mind, expect him to knotch up the arm twisting. I have been informed that there has been no vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee on a amnesty consensus bill which is arguably the most dangerous scenario.( a judiciary committee consensus amnesty bill reaching the senate floor)
So lets try to delay that vote in the judiciary committee by one week by calling on Senator Sessions. The senators are home this week and the judiciary committee vote is sch. for March 27 at this point. Delaying the vote 1 week may not be enough to keep a judiciary committee consensus bill from reaching the floor if Senator Frist is allowing 2 weeks for debate on this issue starting March 27, but we nevertheless should play this option. I have started faxing/calling Senator Sessions at his home offices.(forget e-mails, they are virtually useless)
**URGENT**
Senator Sessions
The American people call on you to please use rule 3 of the judiciary committee rules to delay the vote on any guest worker amnesty. Do not reward people for breaking the law.
3. At the request of any Member, or by action of the Chairman, a bill, matter, or nomination on the agenda of the Committee may be held over until the next meeting of the Committee or for one week, whichever occurs later.

That sounds like a good strategy to me, dx. Senator Sessions has been our best friend in the committee. I think he'd be willing to help that way if he can.
