You gotta love Robin Williams...... Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1) "The US will! apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those "good 'ole' boys", we will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave.We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere.." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

Someone sent me that in an e-mail. And I thought it was pretty good, for a laugh!
But we really do need a PLAN !

By enforcing the exisiting Visa Laws!

Secure the Borders, deport all border jumpers, stop drug smuggler's on the Mexican side. Stop Human smuggler's at the fence.

The only way to secure the border, is not with a fence alone, but with a Wall. But not just any type wall, but one every American can contribute to.

My Plan is this, in every Town in America, there are Contractors, Home builders, Concrete Pavers, Masons, etc.

Issue a Standard Working Drawing, to build a Hollow Concrete Block Form,
a form that will produce a cement block, that any contractor can pour, and any American can purchase.

When a home or new driveway is built, the contractor orders the concrete for the job, in most cases there is always some concrete left over.

Now if each block used less than one cubit yard of cement, to place in the designed form anyone can build. And it could be a Tax write off, for a certian amount of blocks, for the Border Wall Effort.

Where the size of the 'Block', is 2 1/2 ft. wide, 5 ft. long and 3 ft. high, having keyways and keys built in, plus two hollow voids. Where the bottom thickness was 3 inches and the top was slightly thicker, ( because of the required four sided taper needed for the form to release the block) it would require approx. 3/4's of a Cu. Yd. of concrete to build one..........

"Cinqo Da Mile" Block !...... One cubit yard of concrete costs $ 50.00, it would take 1,054 blocks one course high per mile. So a wall two blocks high, would need 2,108 blocks per mile. Each 2400 lb. block could even be transported by a 3/4 ton pick-up truck. But even large trucking companies could be induced to transport these blocks for a tax write off, for the Border Wall Effort.

A six foot high wall, with a six foot high steel fence (minuteman fence), placed in a twelve foot wide by four foot deep ditch (that an earth mover could dig) would hardly be seen from our side of the border. And because of it being in a ditch, a truck or TANK would not be able to cross.

A new Border Patrol Road, a two lane highway could also be built at the same time. Our existing border has a 60 foot easment, public right of way, this could be increased along the whole border in each border state's, border county's. And the whole could be constructed west to east, with construction crews east of each border town or north/south border roads.

Just think, any American family could buy a block, with their name on it, and even send more than one block, as could any American Contractor, or Precast Concrete builder/supplier, donate to the cause. And take pride in the effort, to preserve the American way of life.

Lets see, that 2108 blocks per mile. At 2400 miles, that is 52,320 new CINQO DA MILE Blocks, to secure our border of Mexican National's border jumpers, drug shipments, or even terrorist .

I found it quite amusing that Mr. Bush, would call both of our neighbor leaders for the NAFTA meeting, where Mexico wants it's southern border secure, and a Super Highway Built from ports in Mexico to Canada. How many Americans will be bought out of house and land for that scheme? And Mexico's leaders raise their brows at our wanting a secure border!

I think America's whole border should be a Industrialized Zone, one to two miles wide. Any industry that wants to hire Mexicans, can build factories on this side, and let Mexico build Apartment project's in barrio's on their side of the border for workers to walk to work. And any American workers in these factories, would have homes outside of the same zone, on our side. And could also walk or drive to work.

All transport trucking from Mexico, would detour on the Border Road, to truck stop/ inspection points, for safety checks, load/invoice checks, before being allowed travel north on any interstate route. Any non-compliance would be sent back period, or held in quarantine.

Each border state, could set up National Guard Training Camps in the Zone, Border Patrol sub-stations along the road, every twenty miles, each with it's own detention units, the INS could do the same. While building the infrastructure along the border zone. Where even Wind and Solar energy farms, would provide power to the zone and national grid. Produce growers and distributers, Cattle ranches to Packing plants. To mini-shopping malls and fast-food outlets.

The 'Zone' could also be a place of future technology, where recycle centers would reclaim waste treatment byproducts, (metals, plastics, paper, organic's) would be reused. The whole 'Zone' would be a greenbelt, changing an arid area, into a model for the world. And a true free trade center between sovereign nations.

It can only start with one 'CINQO DA MILE BLOCK' at a time, one after another, one apon another. When Mexico see's we mean business, (in more ways than one) they might be induced to develope the border also. Mexican nationals illegally in this country, would have jobs on their own land in the 'Zone'. And we need to assist them back to the homeland before free trade becomes a reality.

How about we round up all the steelshipping containers from China littering this land and setting the sun early on the CA coast. Drive pilings, set the containers, fill with dirt, and weld the whole row together along the border. Top with razor wire and we've got a wall.

Back in the 70's, I welded for a company that built those shipping containers. The walls all around them are formed with 3/16" thick hot rolled steel. This metal will rust away in less than 100 years.

Concrete takes up to 25 years to fully cure, and will still be in good shape 200 years from now.
The hollow blocks can be filled with cement to bond them together, or partially with clean fill, to allow other fence posts to be cemented in on top.
They weigh lighter and don't require welding, and can be placed using smaller offroad equipment.

Plus they have an optional use, when layed on a foundation, to construct building where the voids being filled with perlite would offer a building block with a high R-value, and would be a plus in the hot desert, for a plane hanger, jail, post office, highway retaining walls, bridge abuttments, ammo containments, armory's. Border Patrol/ DEA offices / Homeland Security Field offices on the border.

I don't understand the zoning on the border. Is that land controlled by the Federal government or the State government? Is getting permits or zoning variances for the construction of a wall by citizens something that could be approved by the state whose border fronts the area or would it require dealing with the "traitors" in D.C.?

I agree with you 2nd two minds and zero dollars and the COST EFFECTIVE, PRACTICAL CONSTRUCTION ideas roll forth. That's because their goal is to save this country not to dismantle it as apparently the "committees" are.

It varies. Some land is federal (such as military bases), some is state (such as state parks), some is Indian reservation, and much of it is private. The issues arise when the federal government wants to obtain land for wall construction from private owners, Indian reservations, or states. For the most part, it should be a non-issue. In few of the other cases is it much of an issue.
