Hollywood Propoganda Warning: New Movie Crossing Over

Someone sent this to me by email. I am so disgusted that Harrison Ford would end his career like this. Such a shame that a Hollywood icon like Ford would participate in this multi million dollar Hollywood propaganda piece coming out.

    Here is the trailer

I cant believe hes a part of this big lie. Makes me sick. How about a movie about poor Americans not being able to get a job because of the illegals. How about Americans not being able to get care at a hospital because to manny illegals are taking up the space. How about the financial burden they put on Americans. I could go on and on and on. I dispise hollywood.

I'm sorry I'll be missing this multi-million dollar sob piece. Regardless of the subject matter I never feel good about movies where Hollywood preaches to us and gets smug beyond belief. It is very easy to do when you live in an ivory tower and your help brings you your pressed paper, freshly squeezed orange juice while you look out into the canyon at other multi-million mansions.

Really, it's more like how dare they thumb their noses down at our government and protecting our borders. Good these pampered people live like they do in any other country???

I'll look for comment sites for this piece of, whoops is that the phone??

Remember what happened to one of their own? The director, and his son of the well-loved Christmas Story movie. It's the 25th anniversary this year and he isn't here to see how we still adore his work....

I'm sure the movie will end the same way all these hackneyed, cliche-ridden movies do - the trailer certainly suggests no real insight into the illegal immigration problem beyond platitudes, cheap action and cheaper social commentary.

Meanwhile, in reality, a Mexican druglord and his cronies decapitates nine people (including a high-ranking police official). Perhaps the sequel can have said druglord "cross over" and show the racist, xenophobic, drugophobic Americans that heroin traffickers are people too, damn it!

I'll be watching rottentomatoes.com to see the reviews. No release date yet...

Their desperate scenarios test the humanity of immigration enforcement officers. In Crossing Over, writer-director Wayne Kramer explores the allure of the American dream, and the reality that immigrants find – and create -- in 21st century L.A. Kramer’s (The Cooler) intersecting stories, both cathartic and tragic, are brought to life by an international ensemble. The film stars Academy Award® nominee HARRISON FORD, Academy Award® winner SEAN PENN, RAY LIOTTA (Good Fellas) ASHLEY JUDD ((Double Jeopardy), CLIFF CURTIS (Whale Rider), JIM STURGESS (Across the Universe), ALICE EVE (Starter for Ten), ALICE BRAGA (City of God), JUSTIN CHON (Gary the Tennis Coach) and SUMMER BISHIL (Nothing is Private). --© Weinstein Company [Less]

The deeper I dig the worse it looks. Maybe this film will just sink into oblivion. This writer mirrors what I was thinking...

Crossing Over movie reviews (pro-illegal immigration film, Harrison Ford, Wayne Kramer)

The new immigration-themed movie 'Crossing Over' - due out in 2009 - appears to be like 'Crash' in that it's set in Los Angeles and involves the interactions of several characters. In this case those characters are trying to become legal residents and expect it to be a perfect storm of braindead Hollywood limo liberalism meeting the Hollywood interest in having a plentiful supply of gardeners.

The stars are Harrison Ford, Jim Sturgess, Ray Liotta, Sean Penn, Ashley Judd, Alice Eve, and Alice Braga. Director: Wayne Kramer. Producers: Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Distribution: MGM and the Weinstein Company. The trailer is here: movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809837407/video/10646018. There was to be an Iranian honor killing, but it was deleted after complaints (link). I'd imagine that if there were any complaints from those who support our immigration laws they were ignored.

I'll continue my decade-and-a-half boycott of Hollywood movies, but I don't suggest denying the impact of propaganda such as this. As more facts come out about the film, please go to the major review sites (rottentomatoes.com, etc.) and review the flick, pointing out all the things they got wrong.

The first trailer for Harrison Ford’s next movie, an immigration film called Crossing Over, has arrived. From the trailer, it’s pretty easy to see where the movie stands on the illegal immigration issue. Harrison Ford wants you to feel sorry for people who sneak into the country with funny accents. He may be too late.

Two years ago or even a year ago this movie might have been relevant. Now, the immigration issue is all but off the table while American’s fear for their jobs. Not much chance of Joe the Plumber feeling sorry for Jorge the Illegal immigrant when he’s just been laid off and Jorge has a steady job. Bad timing Harrison.

The Weinstein Co has released a movie trailer for Crossing Over, a “multi-character drama about immigrants of different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status in Los Angeles. The film addresses the issue from the point of view of the immigrants, as well as the immigration authorities tasked with enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.â€
