This does not suprise me Thelma. We have those out here too, and in Sandy. All the while we pay full rent for totally inadequate and sub-standard places.

The illegals that live here are paying full rent to our slumlord/landlord, but they share the 900 square foot 2 bedroom place with other family members, so they are not paying full rent either. This is a 35 unit complex and each night there are approximately 70 cars here.

So even if our liberal counties did not provide subsidized housing, they would find a way to get cheap rent. However, it really irks me to no end to have these people on the rolls in county and state agencies.

Well I for one am looking forward to seeing them all go, and then seeing landlords and real estate people scrambling to make up for the losses, then having to lower rents and selling prices to entice Oregonians to buy or rent!!!!!!(HAHAHAHA )

    HI Elizabeth-
    irk doesnt cover it.
not only are they getting subsidized housing that should be for american citizens first- washington county and the state are biulding homes for illegals- even though this is felony- even though they are here illegally.
and spanish -only is considered a special needs case- so there is program for that too.

At on time we had checked into Habitat for Humanity on the West Side (we did not want to live that far from family) and they were VERY specific that you must be a legal or natural born citizen upon applying and they said they definitely would check it (the woman speaking at the info meeting said this).

They said if you applied before you had become a legalized citizen, then you would be disqualified.

This made me feel better knowing they were up on the citizen issue for being a program participant.
