WATCH: Obama Promised NO Vacations While He Was President [VIDEO]

No reasonable person would deny that the president of the United States–or any world leader, for that matter–doesn’t deserve a vacation once in a while. In fact, it’s obvious that the pressures of the job mandate some “down time” for mental and physical health as well as optimal performance.

What reasonable people don’t like, however, is being lied to by anyone whose positions change when it is convenient to them or when they have obtained what they want and now feel free to share their true opinions.

Americans therefore should be angry with President Barack Obama about the huge amount of time, not to mention the huge amount of money, he has spent on vacations while in office–although it’s not clear exactly why.

A video has surfaced, and been shared by Conservative Outfitters, of then-Senator Obama in 2008 claiming that presidents shouldn’t take vacations.

The interview shows Obama, before he had announced his candidacy, saying, “The bargain that any president strikes with is, you give me this office and in turn my, fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure is gone.”

Essentially, according to Obama, the candidate says to the American people, “I am giving myself to you.” (Sidenote: And liberals wonder why the right disdainfully calls this man “the Messiah”?)

Since taking office the following year, however, the president has “played golf 186 times (and counting) and taken numerous luxurious vacations,” according to the report accompanying the video.

Now Americans are left to wonder, once again, whether this president was dishonest or incompetent. Was Obama lying in 2008 when he claimed that presidents shouldn’t take vacations? Or was he just wildly incorrect?
Given the number of times this question has been raised about Barack Obama, a follow-up question is becoming increasingly relevant: Does it really matter anymore which is true?
