We are counting on you to help put hate speech in its place.

    FROM THE OPPOSITION

    ----

    Dear friends,

In order to help keep our members informed, MATT.org is pleased to begin sharing the valuable work of other like-minded organizations as well as opportunities to take action on issues that are important to you.

    Sincerely,
    Aracely Garcia-Granados

    Dear Advocate:

We are counting on you to help put hate speech in its place. http://tinyurl.com/9qpkxw
Right now there is a bully in America, a small but vociferous minority that is attacking the core ideals of our diverse society.

We can't let such intolerance go unchallenged. http://tinyurl.com/7blgqv
    These voices are not new.
Once they said that African immigrants deserved to be in chains.
They said that German, Irish, and Italian immigrants were not worthy of being American.
They said that Japanese Americans should be forced to live in internment camps.
This hate has repeatedly brought shame upon our country, and undermined our nation's collective progress.

Today they are at it again, manipulating frustration over our broken immigration system to incite intolerance against immigrants and those perceived to be immigrants. They spread falsehoods and misinformation to block constructive dialogue and debate; all of our communities are experiencing the spillover effects of that wave. We must learn from the painful lessons of our past and challenge the voices of hate wherever they are raised.

Recently, the consequences of this hate were felt in Patchogue, Long Island when 37-year-old Marcelo Lucero was stabbed and beaten to death http://tinyurl.com/7r446w by a group of seven teenagers who said they were looking for "a Mexican" to harass. On December 3, 20 more victims of this kind of violence http://tinyurl.com/8zw6yf came out of the shadows at the Congregational Church in Patchogue to reveal they had been beaten, threatened and attacked with beer bottles because they are Hispanic. And just four days later on December 7, José Sucuzhanay was hit over the head with a beer bottle and beaten with an aluminum baseball bat http://tinyurl.com/7obcyp just half a block from his home in Brooklyn, NY while his attackers shouted anti-gay and anti-Latino expletives. He died on December 9.

    TAKE A STAND NOW!
ADD YOUR VOICE TO THE EFFORT AGAINST HATE:

Send a letter to cable networks http://tinyurl.com/9hj9wq asking them to use their airtime responsibly and stop parroting hate speak (or visit We Can Stop The Hate http://tinyurl.com/a97l8p or
http://tinyurl.com/7j4v4f and click on "What You Can Do").

In addition to cable networks, we intend to target radio shock jocks in the coming months. Sign up for the We Can Stop The Hate action list http://tinyurl.com/8rsqxn and join us to take hate off the airwaves.

Send this letter to your contacts and ask them to do the same!

At We Can Stop the Hate http://tinyurl.com/a97l8p or http://tinyurl.com/9abddo you can also:

Watch Leadership Conference on Civil Rights' Wade Henderson talk about "America's Immigration Legacy" http://tinyurl.com/9mgkxd and learn about our experience with previous immigrants and our treatment of those communities.

Watch "Suspect Spokespeople" http://tinyurl.com/a2ampb to learn about hate groups and vigilantes who have infiltrated the immigration debate.

Watch "Fear and Loathing in Prime Time" http://tinyurl.com/6tee5c
by MediaMatters for a look at cable news network shows that provide over-the-top and often inaccurate information about immigration.

Watch Anti-Defamation League's Stacy Burdett talk about "The Code Words of Hate" http://tinyurl.com/a3379g
used to demonize immigrants and appeal to base racial and cultural fears and prejudices.

Watch Sothern Poverty Law Center's Heidi Beirich in "Behind the Veil" http://tinyurl.com/9qc8k5 describe the connections between many of the anti-immigrant groups fomenting intolerance and their ties to White supremacy and hate.

Learn more about these connections with the help of Campaign for a United America's FAIR Family Tree, http://tinyurl.com/7hswws a tool to help journalists, elected officials, and civic and labor leaders understand anti-immigrant networks in the United States.

Help us spread the word. Send this to your family, friends, and networks.
Together, we can stop the hate. http://tinyurl.com/a6s7hc

I used their system to send the following letter....

    Phil Griffin
    Executive-in-Charge
    MSNBC
    30 Rockefeller Plaza
    New York, NY 10112

    Dear Mr. Griffin:

Thank you for bringing the issue of illegal immigration and its adverse affects on our country to your network. Unfortunately, more American people need to know how our country is fast becoming a third world country.

We need to see Dan Stein and William Gheen to name two on your shows daily. I'm a businessman and president of my company and choose only to hire legal, English speaking Americans... but unfair competition makes it extremely hard to compete for business when other companies in the area hire illegals. I've seen several businesses go under as a result and my future is severely threatened as well.

Illegal aliens pose all kinds of threats to our society and I'm tired of watching our quality of life degrade while major corporations reap the benefits of cheap labor. Our schools and medical system are overloaded with illegals.

I'd welcome daily reports of illegal immigration on your show daily. This is a very serious problem and I'm deeply concerned that our country will never be the same as more of these criminals invade us.

Visa's- someone shoot Bill Gates and his gang of thieves (CHAMBER OF COMMERCE)... I know scores of unemployed or underemployed software and hardware engineers that all hear the same tune- sorry, you're over qualified for the job. While at the same time they supposedly have a shortage of workers.... check how much engineer salaries have declined as the number of foreign workers have increased.

We are rapidly heading downhill as a country... as corporations seek to maximize their profits, they are at the same time decreasing the available pool of customers.

Henry Ford understood this principle- he built cars his employees could afford. He also knew he wouldn't be in the car business for long otherwise. Today's CEO's miss that fine point of doing business.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the demise of many of today's corporations off the face of this world.

Thank you for your attention to these urgent concerns.

I personally do not see the speaking out of American citizens or of the public media as hate speeches BUT just pure frustration from the inactivity or inability of our own government to do it's CONSTITUTIONAL job of protecting our borders. Or am I wrong in my thinking?

More dis-information from the open borders crowd.

This is personally insulting to me. Just because I am a person (like many here) who would like to see the USA's borders secured and immigration laws that are in existence ENFORCED does not make me a racist nor my words hate speech. I take offense to being labeled as such and as one who once believed that black people should remain enslaved and that legal immigrants of the past and present have no business being in the USA. I just don't buy what the globalists and open border enthusiasts are shoving down our throats. When dissent and the expression of one's opinion that is done in a peaceful and non insulting fashion is considered hate speech then outlawed, we will be in serious trouble. This needs to be prevented from happening. We need to stand up to these forces.

    uniteasone-
Absolutely not... their only argument left is to use hate speech to squelch real Americans... we need more American's to speak up before its too late.

Yep, and if the Mexican government gave a crap about their citizens Mexico could move froward as a country too. And the people would want to stay and not take risks to their lives or have to choose crime to feed their family's.

well after several years of living in Mexico and seeing first hand what the mass exodus is doing to this country and also hearing about how my birth country is changing (for the worse), I have completely done a 180 and stand for restricting immigration into the USA. I believe that when the masses of Mexicans come back home for good, they will bring good ideas with them and help repair the damage that has been done here. Stopping the mass exodus from Mexico to the north and mass deportation of illegals in the USA back to their homeland is Mexico's true hope for the future for the reasons you have stated. This does not set well with the powers that be.

I know what you mean and I also feel that its long overdue that Mexicans need to use their pride for their country to restore it and bring it to greatness along with the usa. Not merging the country's, but helping to make us all live well. But it does seem that the powers that be are intent on Everyone in Mexico and America living in poverty and oppressed. And all that really does is pit people against each other. Americans and Mexicans would be just fine working together to increase the standard of living throughout both country's if our leaders just gave us the chance.
