Some of you though it was a rip off. Well it is a rip off. The website is selling fake matricula cards according to the Mexican consulate in Houston.

Eventhough this report is from April 2007, it shows that there is a market for fake matricula consular cards.

    April 4, 2007.

The General Consulate of Mexico in Houston alerted his countrymen on the existence of a website that offers without authorization the expedition of the Matricula Consular of that country.

The virtual page www.mexicanconsulateid.com promises their users to lobby to federal level to achieve a migratory amnesty only for the Hispanic that work in the agricultural sector whenever they have the Matricula Consular card.

The entry requires an initial payment of almost 70 dollars, besides photographs and personal data, to process the procedures of the Matricula consular.

According to the webiste www.mexicanconsulateid.com, the owners of that page belong to an activist movement "that fights for the rights of the Hispanic immigrants in the U.S.".

"We are not going to tolerate the family division nor ethnocentric laws that do not have enforcement. Upon processing the Matricula Consular, we will permit the Hispanic in U.S. to obtain different services", assures the website.

It indicates on the other hand, by way of offering, the procedure of the matricula consular and the temporary permission to work for the sum of 99.95 dollars.

According to the Consulate in Houston, the procedure to obtain the matricula consular can be done through a free number 1877 Mexitel (6394835).

The registration consular is a document sent off by the Government of Mexico in the United States and it is utilized to carry out diverse procedures in that country.

This wouldn't even be an issue if this country did not cater to illegals by accepting the matricula cards as a legitimate from of identification from these people.

It's ridiculous that we should even have to worry about illegals presenting fake matricula cards here in the US, since they shouldn't be recognized in the first place.
