WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY SAYS THE PRESIDENT’S WANTS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PEOPLE’S NEEDS

Since President Obama said that France, not Britain, is America’s greatest ally, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear the White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, telling the White House Press Corps that the President’s job is to live like an out-of-touch French aristocrat, traveling around the nation in luxury while many of his people struggle.

If Jay Carney’s job is to make President Obama seem sympathetic to the population he represents, his press briefing isn’t doing Obama any favors. Justifying taxpayer expensed executive golf outings, and parties with Justin Timberlake, and Jay-Z makes Obama seem more a French King than an American President.

Louis XIV famously said, “L’État, c’est moi” – I am the State. The last Louis to govern France, Louis XVI, thought his people should be thanking him for his rule, no matter how corrupt. He also had a wife named Marie Antoinette who told her bread-deprived people to simply, “Eat Cake.”

Eventually the French people got so outraged by their leaders’ lavish living and immoral, illegal, and depraved activities that, in 1789; they started a civil war that consumed the whole nation for a decade.

If you were the President of the United States, wouldn’t you want to be the biggest fan of a more historically successful model of government than a nation that has had several revolutions and more than five constitutions?
