Thread: What do we want [OBL] in the first 100 days....[the moon]

This was posted by an activist in Chicago. It's long but worth skimming to see the mindset. He basically wants every enforcement gone, suspended and the gates open. Keep an eye on all their protests. The May 2006 marches are what got me into this issue. I can only imagine that their protests in January will bring many more angry Americans here.


What do we want (and believe it’s possible to achieve) in the first
100 days

All immigration activists and organizers would like to see a full and
fair comprehensive immigration reform in the first 100 days of the new
administration. However, we all know that is not possible. Full
immigration reform will take months, if not years, to be accomplished.

But we believe there are some tasks the new administration can
accomplish, basically because they all fall into the capacity of the
Executive office. Even though some of them are laws and some other are
regulated by laws, all of them can be enacted or restrained by the
Executive.

The Real ID Act of 2005 would turn our state driver’s licenses into a
genuine national identity card and impose numerous new burdens on
taxpayers, citizens, immigrants, and state governments – while doing
nothing to protect against terrorism. As a result, it is stirring
intense opposition from many groups across the political spectrum.

• The Secretary of Homeland Security should suspend the regulations

These Chicago based activist (ICIRR) must feel a kinship with Obama because their office and Obama’s Chicago office and even his home are only 3 to 5 miles from each other. (Or dose that give Obama a soft spot in his heart for the ICIRR?)
