What are Mitt Romney's Views On Border, Illegals?

I think he would be a formidable candidate---unless he is a Bush clone on illegal immigration.

    Don't want to

Don't want to burst your bubble, but romney is a Utah Mormon. Illegals make EXCELLENT converts. The church actively targets this population, the illegals, or those wanting simplified immigration get sponsorship for resident alien status, with their help. Illegals make use of this to legitimize themselves. In fact when dealing with my own immigration issues, involving my wife, who is Canadian, I was advised by a friend to just fake joining the church, to get through easily.

Understand that religious people working for federal offices very much tailor their job performance and outlook based on their religious views of the world. In Utah that means the federal offices are drawn from a mormon population. I'm sure people may doubt what the religious corruption can do to their job performance, but just by looking at the believers running us now....you get the picture.

We declined to join. My wife considering such a thing as deceitful. I wouldn't do it because I believe that religion, all of it, not GOD, is a crock. I am separated now and often wonder how life would be different if we had had that ease at such a critical time in our relationship.

In Forks WA, where I lived for a time, the mormon church and its elements harbor and aid illegals, they work in the shake shingle industry here. People rent them ramshackle trailers, The local mormon doctor does this.
Not to single the mormons out, the catholics are doing it too.

So, as for mitt, you gotta be flippin kidding me.

As for Joe, he was born in Sharon, in my home state of Vermont.
As for Brigham, he was born 10 minutes from my house, in Whitingham. love glenn

BTW, Utah is packed with illegals, one of the lowest wage states in the Nation.

As a MA resident, I'm happy to report......

Romney is in no way. shape or form soft on illegal aliens. One of the reasons I like the guy so much..

Our socialist legislature is getting ready to pass a bill to give in state tuition to illegals.

Romney has already said he'll veto it. Again.

I've heard him speak on this subject more than once and he'e adamantly opposed to giving any benefits to illegals. His Lt Gov recently got into a spat on the radio during a debate on this legislation. They both oppose it.

Two replies, two very different views. I know that Utah had passed driver's license rights for illegals BUT rescinded that legislation after 9/11. I also know that Mormons believe that Christ "visited" Latin America and taught there after rising from dead.

I have been in Mormon churches and have seen hymn books in Spanish.

Also know that Mormons are extremely conservative, law and order types, so I find it strange they would sanction illegals.

I will have to email his office.

    Thanks

That is going to be a problem IF a Governor runs for President because it's gonna be kind of difficult to TELL where they stand since they haven't actually had to make those decisions. But, on the other hand, I guess they DO have to make SOME decisions since two Governors did declare states of emergency in their states. I really just don't know that much about Romney. BUT, all I can say is that, if he is, in ANY WAY, related to Bush, I will campaign my HEART out to DEFEAT HIM. If he can't STAND Bush, I will work my fingers to the bone to elect him. That is going to be my criteria in 2008!!!

Can your religion make you un-electable as a presidential candidate?

I wouldn't have a problem. But people make lots of Mormon jokes, and some people around here complain about Mormons (probably ignorantly).

Whenever a name gets tossed around as an (R) presidential candidate, I look around and try to see who planted the idea, and what they could gain by duping (easily), the GOP into running an un-electable candidate.

Condi, of course, is the disaster waiting to happen.

note: And the candidate is wooed by the immigration "cheerleader" advisors to try to play both sides on the border issue. Talking tough when necessary, talking like a wuss when necessary. Convincing nobody.

I believe it CAN make a person unelectable, PA. I say that because people are getting FED UP with the far right wing of the Republican Party constantly trying to throw their weight around. Most of my friends ARE Republicans even though I'm an Independent and I know THEY are just SICK of that far right wing taking control of their Party.

I have to admit that I believe that the far right wing is chasing away a whole lot of people who have been Republicans for years and years. I'mm one of them. Personally, I think things would be better all the way around if people running for public offices just kept their mouths shut about religion entirely. It has no place in government whatsoever.

    EXACTLY, JJ!

It just TURNS ME COMPLETELY OFF. And, I am NOT the only person I know who feels the same way. Politics and religion just DO NOT MIX.
    AND, SHOULD NOT MIX.

    mass.

Have you been to Massachusetts lately? Isn't he their governor? I may be wrong there about that, but Massachusetts is crawling with illegals, he vetoed the in state tuition for illegals, What to say than he is an able politician. Typically liberal Mass. is divided on this issue.

Also SLC is a sanctuary city. g
